Storage Technical Architect - Netapp, storage, san, NAS, unix, windows, network, vmware/Citrix Capita is the UK's leading FTSE100 outsourcing company and is now seeking a Storage Technical Architect to design the storage, backup and infrastructure element of solutions for new/existing business customer opportunities in the range of �50k to �80 million. The successful applicant will work as part of the Client Solutions - Technical Architecture Team - responsible for design, architecture, development and implementation of solutions for different systems and services across a range of customers. Typically, their Technical Architects work on fast-moving projects which have a high degree of uncertainty and are skilled at providing the clarity needed for their projects to succeed. They will be responsible for the identification of requirements, design and pricing of technical and services solutions that will support either a larger ICT managed service and outsourcing opportunity or the delivery of a distinct professional service engagement or products. Also provide oversight, direction and leadership to the technical design of strategic customer solutions and will be responsible for the infrastructure aspects of an end-to-end solution for a variety of ICT programme types. Furthermore, be willing to support short notice resource requests as well as opportunities already forecast in their sales pipeline. So seeking applicants with the following: * Very good knowledge of at least one of the following: UNIX/Linux/Windows operating system * Experience in SAN, NAS & ISCSI technologies (Preferably NetApp) * Experience of storage technologies (preferably HP) * Good knowledge of MS-SQL, Oracle, MS Exchange, Windows Media Server, IIS, Active Directory, VDI/Citrix, VMware * Knowledge of common protocols; TCP/IP, HTTP/S, UDP, DNS, CIFS, NFS * Design principles of WAN topologies and routing * Awareness of CESG security requirements for IL3 (and above) environments * Microsoft Office and Visio * Network Engineering experience with Routers, Switches, LAN, WAN, MPLS and dynamic routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP and OSPF) * Hands-on Designing, Implementing and configuring highly complex backup/storage environments where multiple vendors may interact * Ability to work closely with pre-sales bid teams and have the ability to challenge solution choices when needed * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal * Excellent analytical and problem solving skills * Excellent negotiation skills with stakeholders, vendors and suppliers, both internal and external. * Understanding of existing and emerging technologies * Comfortable presenting solutions to internal and external stakeholders, estimating costs accurately (including infrastructure, development, test and integration costs) *Strong team player *Highly motivated and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple customers and/or engagements *Not be concerned to take on additional tasks outside of your comfort zone. *Willing to undergo CRB check and be able to obtain SC Clearance If interested apply now to avoid disappointment!
