You will be responsible for supervising work performed by the rewind department which specifically involves the rewinding and testing of various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Rewind various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment
Direct or provide on-the-job training for the team within the department
Requisition supplies for the department
Test manufacturers' materials for suitability and serviceability
Requisition equipment and tools for the department through the Works Manager
Complete all repair quotes for repair times
Check all repair data gathered by team members
Schedule and prioritise all work to be performed by Rewind Department
Help supervised employees understand and observe company rules and regulations, including proper safety procedures.
Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear
Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by the Works Manager

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND:

Basic mechanical aptitude
Stripping and rewinding of AC/DC motors and other electro-mechanical equipment, including high voltage equipment

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Formal apprenticeship in electrical motor rewinding (single phase, three phase and dc)

RELATED EXPERIENCE

Previous experience of dismantling, rewinding, assembling and testing of electro-mechanical equipment
Previous supervisory experience
