Based near the centre of Coventry this large 11-18 secondary school are looking to appoint a Music teacher to join their team of staff. The role is that of a full time, permanent Music Teacher and is due to commence September 2013. You will be a committed and passionate teacher of Music, able to work on your own initiative when required but also work constructively as part of a team. Your role will require you to teach Music to all age groups in the school including both GCSE and A-Level groups.
The school has an excellent Music department with outstanding facilities including studios for students to play, practice and record their own and others music. The school provides an inclusive atmosphere for pupils’ that ensures they are given every opportunity to achieve to the best of their potential. The school invests heavily in the staff, regularly sending them on training courses, in providing opportunities to take on more responsibility as they develop and to further their own career development programmes.
The school is over-subscribed and successful with an inclusive, supportive culture for staff and the successful applicant can look forward to a high level of support and professional development, whilst being encouraged to take on responsibility and use their initiative and creativity, to provide pupils with every opportunity possible. The staff at the school are conscientious, friendly and loyal, and show great commitment to students and the community.
It is essential for this position that you have a real love for music combined with a broad knowledge of musical history. Ideally you will play at least one musical instrument to a high standard. You will also take a key role in the school’s yearly production that has become a real event within their academic calendar.
