Have you been developing code (C or C++ ) but would like a new challenge? If you are interested in learning and developing new skills in addition to the existing knowledge you have on one of more following languages, C, or C++ then please keep reading.
The opportunity I have is to be trained into a Security Consultant that can look across software code for security vulnerabilities and perform Static Code analysis, Source code analysis, reverse engineering, penetration testing and general hacking techniques. My customer are prepared to invest significantly in training you with external companies like ISC2, SANS / GIAC etc so that you are able to evaluate code for security vulnerabilities that could be exploited by a “hacker” and then able to work with other software engineers in guiding them on how to fix the vulnerabilities so that the final code is secure and verified. You will essentially be formally trained to think like a “hacker” and to utilise the same tricks they use to take control of systems, but utilising the skills in making sure my customers software & hardware solutions are “hardened” and not susceptible to most attacks. If you are interested in Cyber Security & Security Evaluations then we should be talking because this position is all about Security within equipment such as routers & switches, networks & online and making sure that prevention up front is better then trying to find a cure after an attack has happened.
If the above sounds of interest to you and you fit the criteria below, then please send us your CV so we can read it and call you to talk further.
• Strong programming skills in either C or C++ (this is non-negotiable)
• Highly proficient in a Unix/Linux/Windows environment
• Strong interest for testing and ability to work independently on hard problems
• Superior analytical and problem solving skills
• Curious mind with a “Test to break” mentality
• Knowledge of Internet technologies, distributed system, TCP/IP networking
• Able to be SC Cleared (You will need to be a British Resident – non negotiable)
The package is very much negotiable on experience. Please get in touch for a conversation.
This role would suit graduates that have just completed a Software Engineering degree and would like to move into the growing and ever evolving Security market. It would also suit software developers that are looking for a change away from just crunching code – they would utilise the knowledge they have of writing code and be formally trained to become a Security Consultant.
