3rd Line Cisco Network Engineer required for a top automotive company based in Gaydon. You will be responsible for the voice and data network infrastructure, and will have strong Cisco experience across call manager, switches and routers.
As 3rd Line Cisco Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the global converged voice and data network infrastructure for the business. You will have responsibility for the architecture and implementation of the expansion and upgrade plans, as well as ensuring that all existing equipment is fully maintained, patched and upgraded, as required.
You will need to provide fast and effective problem resolution on all voice and data services, providing support over the phone, via email and face-to-face - so good communication skills are essential. You must be flexible as there may also be the requirement for business travel.
The 3rd Line Cisco Network Engineer will also be responsible for mentoring other members of the Infrastructure team, including helpdesk technicians.
Your responsibilities include:
- Provision of an enterprise class converged voice and data facility.
- 3rd / 4th level support on all network related issues.
- Strategic direction in voice, data and fabric issues to the Infrastructure team.
- Documentation of existing estate and improvements to procedures for updates / change request scheduling and managing updates / patches.
- Troubleshooting, monitoring and fine tuning network performance.
- Managing 3rd party global MPLS WAN with QOS.
- Managing 3rd party managed firewalls.
- Implementation of integrated video conferencing facility.
- Control of all hardware maintenance and relevant software licences.
- Project management of new site implementations and expansion / upgrades.
- Implementation of network access control and 2FA remote access solution.
- Control of all remote and 3rd party network access.
Ideally you will have the following skills:
- Advanced Cisco across:
*Call Manager 6.x, 7.x, 8.x
*Switches
*Routers
*Firewalls
*Wireless
- Remote VPN access solutions, e.g. RSA SecureID, Cisco clients.
- Telephony, e.g. PSTN, ISDN
- Structured and fibre cabling
- Large scale infrastructure experience
- Network design, architecture, build and installation background
- EMC SAN storage is an advantage
