Randstad Education have welsh cover supervisor vacancies for secondary schools in South Wales. The schools we supply teachers to continually require welsh cover supervisors during the school term and so Randstad Education can offer regular short-term, long-term and day-to-day vacancies all year round. Working as a cover supervisor can be extremely rewarding but also very demanding. There is a high level of responsibility, however, there is always a teacher close at hand if needed. Schools may wish to employ staff for cover supervision but on occasions where they are not needed for cover, they might also be released to provide additional support to teachers in classrooms, or to carry out administrative tasks for example. The role of a Cover Supervisor includes: -Undertaking whole class supervision in the absence of the class teacher, setting work previously prepared by the teacher -Developing curricular knowledge as required by the school -Applying the school's behaviour management policy and report any difficulties to the class teacher/head teacher -Setting homework previously prepared by the teacher -Marking elements of class work and homework under the guidance of the class teacher -Undertaking observations of the pupils and contribute to pupil records -Administering (and marking) class tests -Supervising the work of the Teaching Assistant -Abiding by and work towards all the policies within the school e.g. behaviour management, Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities -Carrying out the above duties in accordance with the Children's Services Department's Equal Opportunities Policy. Are you a fluent Welsh speaker who has school based experience working as a Teaching Assistant? Are you looking for a long-term position which will enable you to apply and develop you skills?
Hays Education are currently working with a Welsh medium school in the Vale of Glamorgan who have a job for a Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant to join their busy school. The Teaching Assistant (TA) will be required to give assistance in the Foundation Phase, working in Year 1 and 2.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support the learning and development of the children by working on a 1:1 basis and with small groups, completing group learning activities. Other duties will include providing feedback to the class teacher, supervising children at lunch and break times, as well as getting involved with extra-curricular activities.
The ideal candidate will:
Be a fluent Welsh speaker
Have recent, referenceable experience working with children
Ideally have a childcare qualification or equivalent
Have a genuine passion for working with children
Have a good knowledge of the Foundation Phase
Be able to create learning resources
Have a patient and caring nature
