Are you an experienced Project Manager seeking a new opportunity? An exciting contract has arisen to join the decommissioning project based at Hunterston. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, delivering and controlling projects to time, cost and quality. Key Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities. To take personal responsibility for the consistent application of company projects practices and for implementing lessons learned from others. Overall responsibility for ensuring the safe delivery on a project to time, cost and quality ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory process requirements with responsibility for leading the project to a successful conclusion. Prepare and present at Validation and Sanction panels. Resource and manage a multi-disciplinary project team ensuring the availability to specialist resources (safety, environmental, design etc.). Produce the Project Execution Plan, calling on specialist resources in both the preparation stages and throughout the life of the plan. Manage risk in accordance with the Risk and Opportunity Management process. Forecast contingency required and to draw down as appropriate. Consider options for value engineering as well as the potential for changes to the scope/schedule/forecast costings. Lead CDM activities for the project in accordance with the Project Health, Safety and Environment Management process. Approve all project documents to be issued outside of the Company. Manage interfaces with other projects as appropriate. Manage significant stakeholder issues or interfaces (internal or external), multiple external suppliers, and significant contract management issues. Comply with the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments. Support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety Environment and Quality on Site. As a customer-focused individual, the post holder will be expected to support delivery within his or her range of skills, knowledge, experience and competence. Undertake core competence roles as required. Our client specialise in the design and manufacture of globally renowned special purpose machinery for a range of manufacturing applications, and as a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit a dynamic, proactive and accomplished Senior Project Manager to complement their established and highly successful team.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will manage a small team of project managers and planning personnel responsible for managing multiple projects across all project phases, and will take the lead in ensuring that all projects are delivered in full and within strict budgetary and timescale constraints. You will be tasked with the development of detailed project plans including schedule creation, resource planning and costings across multiple projects and will maintain the project risk registers to ensure that stakeholders develop and mitigate any identified risks, whilst managing the day to day activities of both projects and staff, communicating with the cross functional project team as necessary to ensure project deliverables are on schedule and within cost parameters.
An excellent communicator at all levels, you will liaise with internal and external customers as required, and will be a confident decision maker able to drive key decisions across projects and communicate trade-offs and risks where necessary, making recommendations to the management team regarding schedules, prioritisation and resource allocation based on both experience and input from project team members, and providing ongoing project plan and status reports when required by customers and the management team.
You will be responsible for the effective management of operational, resource and organisational capacity planning, coaching and training the project management team on processes and best practices and representing and supporting project management policies and procedures to key business stakeholders, and essentially will be highly self motivated and skilled in driving projects whilst effectively estimating and managing project costs from cradle to grave within an ERP environment. Additionally will be responsible for the maintenance and control of standard contracts and commercial terms and conditions as well as associated invoice, finance and export documentation, so experience of export contract and commercial terms alongwith additional language skills will be distinctly advantageous.

You will be qualified to degree level in Chemistry or Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and have a thorough understanding of the chemistry processes involved in the water treatment industry. Familiarity with Design, Build and Install projects is key to the success of this role and you have experience in a similar project delivery function. You will also have design and operational understanding of water treatment technologies, including waste water applications, pre-treatment plants, Reverse Osmosis systems, filtration, feed / dosing and control systems and experience with AutoCAD and PLC software.
