A key client of Hays who operate and maintain the GPSS and Naval OFDs on behalf of the Ministry of Defence are seeking a Technical Buyer to join their team. The GPSS comprises 2,000km of operating pipelines, 16 COMAH registered storage sites and the OFDs comprise 4 depots in Scotland and 2 depots in the south/south west of England.

The Technical Buyer is responsible for forecasting likely levels of demand and conducting research to ascertain the best products and suppliers. You will liaise between suppliers, manufactures, internal department and customers. You will assist in the development of the organisations purchasing strategies and procedures.

A successful candidate will be qualified to Level 3 Certificate in Purchasing and Supply or recognised equivalent. You will have a technical/engineering background ideally in COMAH regulated industry, preferably Oil and Gas.
