Working on days 8-5 role, this position is offering a starting basic of £30,000.
Successful candidates should come from an apprenticeship or NVQ / City and Guilds equivalent background and have at least 3 years mechanical maintenance experience and be looking for a new challenge, good communicator and well presented with an excellent attitude towards work.
Mechanical Engineers will be responsible for pumps , motors , hot and cold water systems, heat exchangers, water treatment , cooling towers , AHU’s, FCU’s, VAV’s, air conditioning systems, boilers, standby generators, plumbing and all general PPM and reactive maintenance.

Mechanical Engineer - Industrial Project Base:
Job Profile;
Tasks required of the incumbent will be varied and require the following skill set :-
1) Ability to convert tender level information to project plant specification detail to enable purchase of equipment to be carried out. Experience will be required in the specification of all aspects of an industrial water / effluent treatment plant specifically, but not limited to, the following:
a. Pumping units.
b. Air Blowers
c. Pipe work including supports (ANSI B31.1, and B31.3.
d. In line pipe items (eductors, strainers, resin traps).
e. Vessels to common European and international standards (including ASME VIII).
f. Valves.
2) Design experience should be such that at least a working knowledge of some of the following processes has been gained. Lead designer responsibilities of the processes would be advantageous. Candidates without the process knowledge will be considered providing their experience of the above equipment suits our business needs.
Demineralised Water Production by Reverse Osmosis and Ion Exchange processes.
Condensate Polishing.
Filtration using Inert Media.
Filtration by the use of mechanical interception equipment.
Chemical Dosing Systems.
Alternatively a candidate with sound background of process engineering in the offshore oil and gas industry would be of interest to us.
3) Ability to liaise with, and obtain and review information from, where necessary, all internal company departments including workshops and external suppliers. The engineer is to ensure that designs are prepared, made and constructed to best possible practise whilst maintaining budgetary aims and goals.
4) Where required by the project manager, attend client and sub contractor meetings to ensure that Company engineering excellence is available to our customers for advice and help.
5) Possess the ability to ensure that Company engineering skill is not compromised by equipment provided by vendors in our supply chain.
The Person
Qualifications - Graduate level preferred although candidates with HNC and significant industrial experience will be considered.
Experience
* It is unlikely that anyone with less than 5 years post completion of qualifications will have the necessary depth of experience to successfully perform this role.
* Must be able to work as part of a small or large team.
* Flexible in approach to variety and nature of tasks allocated.
* Must be willing to learn and work within Company procedures and practises.
* Ability to travel abroad for short term assignments (1 -2 weeks) would be desirable.

• To provide pastoral care and support to students
Requirements (Essential)
• Have a minimum of three years Mechanical experience in industry.
• Competent in domestic or industrial installation & maintenance, with proven knowledge and experience on plant and process control systems would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Hold a level three qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• Have a sound knowledge of Mechanical engineering principles
• Good numeracy, literacy and computer skills
• Communicates effectively, both orally, and in writing, with learners, employers and other professionals

My client based in Kent is heavily involved in the imaging and optical market, and now seeks an Opto Mechanical Engineer with 3D CAD experience to join their team and work on the design, assembly and mechanical testing of optical instruments and systems.
This person will be experienced in full lifecycle Opto-mechanical system design, ideally using SolidWorks, although Creo and Wildfire would also suffice. You will have a good degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, and be able to demonstrate mechanical design experience preferably in high performance optics.
Experience in some or all of the following is required:

Our client is looking to increase their Mechanical Engineering capability, within the Nuclear Generation and Defence business, we are looking for a large number of skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineers, on a permanent or contract basis.

- Pipework and plant design / analysis (pumps, valves, vessels)

- Experience in the nuclear industry would be advantageous, but will consider applications from other regulated industries.
