My client is a well establsihed energy conservation and environmental solutions in Australia, Dubai and in the UK to medium to large energy users and are now are seeking a degree qualified electrical engineer for the position of Engineering & Estimation Engineer. The duties will involve: * Design and prepare system designs for the business development team * Estimate complete project costs and provide payback analysis for each proposal * Complete pricing templates and source relevant prices from suppliers * Use CAD to reproduce or generate system schematics * Use CAD to generate updated single line drawings and electrical schematics * Reproduce hydraulic and reticulation schematics to assist with system design * Collaborate with other Design Engineers, Business Development Managers and Project Engineers to seek optimum design for each project (balancing cost with functionality) * Liaise with EP&T design engineering, technical and business teams to understand client and project briefs. * Provide post-design support to project engineers as required * Provide technical sales support to the Business Development Managers team as required * Co-ordinate sales/order process - by passing client orders to Projects Department with accompanying technical/estimation/proposal information The criteria is: * Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics * Minimum 3-5 years experience in an electrical role with hands on experience * Practical understanding of HV/LV essential * Technical computing skills essential with experience of using AutoCAD a must * Good report writing skills essential * Design & Estimation experience essential * Experience of a M&T sub-metering systems advantageous * Experience of building services and mechanical engineering advantageous * Energy management experience advantageous * Superior communication skills * Adaptable and forward-thinking * Prepared to work irregular hours to meet project deadlines * Proven ability to work under pressure Please note approximately 3 months training will be provided and this is a London based role. W5 Recruitment are seeking an experienced Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer for a major international client, to be based in the Tees Valley office.
You will provide geotechnical design and reporting work for a range of interesting projects mainly in the UK. A large proportion of our work involves design of earthworks, foundations and retaining structures. Many of our schemes are multi-disciplinary and will require liaison with project teams of varying complexity and size.
The priorities of this role include: Inputting to the planning, investigation, design, construction and post construction monitoring of geotechnical aspects of projects; Preparing technical notes and geotechnical reports; Delivering geotechnical designs; Tracking of project programmes and delivery dates; Liaising with contractors and clients, both external and internal and supervising ground investigations.
Candidates should be able to exhibit a sound academic knowledge of engineering geology and geotechnical engineering, you will have a high degree of competence in geotechnical design of foundations, slopes, earthworks, retaining structures alongside a sound knowledge of design codes and standards (including EC7).
Experience of using geotechnical design software, particularly slope stability programs such as SlopeW is required, as are planning & organising skills and a commitment to professional and personal self development.
Basic Qualifications
Candidates will have a first degree in Geology, Engineering Geology or Civil Engineering.
In addition candidates will ideally have an MSc in Soil Mechanics / Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology

The business is capitalising upon recent success and the Development Engineer will build-up the product range and report to the Technical Director.
