About the role
As Senior Accountant – Business Planning you will be responsible for a number of key deliverables for the business including, but not limited to:
· developing fee recovery procedures and formulae;
· implementing, developing and continuously improving business planning systems;
· ensuring co-ordination across the business linking business planning to procurement and contract management strategies;
· assisting in developing management information for programme directors and project managers to help them monitor and improve performance;
· ensuring month end information on project accruals is accurate;
· producing of annual fee invoices; and
· assisting in the preparation of 9 and 12 month statutory accounts.
The person
For your application to be successful you will need to be CCAB qualified. You will need to have had in depth experience of managing stakeholders at a variety of levels and understand the tools and techniques of business planning. It is essential that you have experience of financial forecasting and the production of business plans.
Furthermore you will need to have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial colleagues. It will be essential for you to have strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate and analyse information to be able to present key findings and conclusions.

* Support the Head of Business Planning, Business Planning Manager & Sales team
* Owner and key contact for all Blue Planner (bespoke sales forecasting tool) maintenance
* Preparation & collaboration between Sales Controllers for Weekly Operations Meeting to analyse monthly landing and FY figures
* Participation in pre demand meetings to assess risks & opportunities not included in forecast
* Preparation and analysis of key monthly reports (analysing top line, variance analysis, customer & brand/format review)
* Core responsibilities will expand to include the following:
* Key support for the marketing team and department / cost centre heads
* Tracking & reporting of monthly advertising & overhead spend – ensuring actuals are aligned to budget and pro-actively highlight any risks or opportunities
* P&L simulation for New product development
* Support the team in month end closing (reporting to Group)
* Participate in forecast & budget process
* Capex, costing/transfer pricing
* Assisting the Business Planning team in ad hoc projects
