Our client is a leading international provider of specialist site based project services, providing process engineering, treatment design and major project management and implementation services to a range of clients involved in land development, purchase and remediation.
They are currently recruiting Senior/Consultant Ecologists to join their team in Avon.
The position will involve the following roles:
-Managing ecology projects
-Working independently and undertaking all levels of protected species related fieldwork at site throughout the UK
-liaising with clients, other organisations and lead ecology team members to promote strong working relationships and effective communication
-Carrying out data searches, field surveys, analysis and evaluation of results, impact assessment, design and implementation of mitigation strategies, including the production and submission of EPS licence applications
-Marketing the company's consultancy services to external businesses using existing and your own business development ideas.
The ideal candidate will have:
-An ecological degree or related subject
-Substantial experience in environmental consultancy (minimum of 3 years)
-Excellent field skills
-Licenses to survey for protected species (especially bats)
-Have held licenses issued by Natural England or Countryside Council for Wales to permit works affecting protected species (such as bats, GCNs and badgers)
-Experience in the design and implementation of mitigation works
-Experience of writing and submitting successful European Protected Species applications
-Experience of undertaking BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes ecological surveys and reports
-The ability to prepare and review reports to the highest standard
-Thorough understanding of UK/EU nature conservation legislation and planning policy
-Experience of marketing and client relationship building
-A current UK driving licence
-Experience of preparing ecological chapters of Environmental Impact Assessments is desirable

To be considered you will need strong academic credentials and demonstrable drive and commitment. You will have experience of commercial project development and will be expected to rapidly make significant contributions to technically challenging and commercially demanding projects, developing high speed digital and analogue electronics systems through the full life cycle of product development, contributing to and taking a technical leadership role and integrating with a talented multi-disciplinary team.
Essential skills:
• A 1st or 2.1 (Hons) degree in Electronics or Computer Science, from a top university
• 3 A Levels (or equivalent) at A grade.
• Considerable experience in some/all of: C/C++, VHDL, Altera Quartus, Altrium Designer.
• Solid experience of design, implementation and test
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

The company is now seeking to recruit a qualified New Product & Process Development Specialist who will join the engineering team concentrating on new composite technologies and new product developments which will yield some or all of the benefits indicated above. Reporting to the Engineering Manager this cross functional role will provide expert technical input and guidance on both product and process development of all new and existing composite products designed onsite, ensuring that specification requirements are met, and exceeded wherever possible.
Ideally, candidates will have a minimum first degree or equivalent in an engineering, chemical or materials science discipline related to composites technologies and may well have higher specialised qualifications. They must also have several years’ broad composite product development experience associated with a commercial manufacturing operation ideally within the aerospace or similarly demanding high integrity sector.
