Reporting directly to the site Managing Director the Operations / Production / Manufacturing Manager will manage all day to day Operational and Production matters ensuring maximum operating margins are achieved whilst meeting customer quality and delivery requirements. The role has responsibility for a team of c.35, control of direct costs, productivity and efficiency, continuous Improvement activity, planned and preventative maintenance, materials and purchasing, staff training and development etc.

Our client is a successful and expanding division of an established UK plc involved in provision of wide range of surface and chemical processing services to the industrial marketplace in the UK and overseas. With a growing customer base including the Oil, Gas, Power, Energy, Defence, Aerospace and process industries, they are able to offer excellent opportunities for career growth and progression and an attractive starting package up to £45K basic salary + fully expensed car, life assurance, private medical cover etc.

Ideally educated to degree level in a science or engineering discipline the successful Operations / Production / Manufacturing Manager will have experience of leading multi-disciplined production teams in a factory / industrial / plant setting. Previous exposure to the demands of a fast turnaround process industry or engineering services organisation is required, and experience of using modern manufacturing tools ( 5S, Lean etc.) to drive improvement in a batch processing environment would be desirable. Strong financial and commercial acumen is essential, as is an ability to adopt a customer service focussed approach to management.

The Operations / Production / Manufacturing Manager will act as a figurehead and champion for all Health and Safety matters on site.

Primary and secondary injection testing of electrical protection equipment to prevent and minimise damage to machines

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Successful candidates will ideally have a background as a Test Engineer dealing with rotating electrical machinery i.e. hydro generators or steam generators etc
Knowledge and application around IEC 60034

QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree / HNC / HND within a relevant subject i.e. Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
