Maintain up-to-date with the engineering standards, methods, codes, practices, and techniques which are not clearly defined. Thorough knowledge of Rotating Equipment such as all types of pumps, gas turbines, coolers etc. Highly knowledgeable and obtained certifications in rotating equipment mechanical faults diagnosis and mastering of Reliability Centred Maintenance in Oil & Gas Industry.
The successful candidate for the Mechanical Engineering Specialist (Reliability) Have minimum of 15 years experiences in petrochemicals and oil & gas industry Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, High qualification is considered as additional advantage to enhance performance of all related complex mechanical engineering calculations and assignments as technical expert required to demonstrate for in-depth technical, supported by field measurements and laboratories, to help improving the assets performance to enable Company to create value and deliver strategic objectives in a planned and sustainable manner to proactively tackle critical issues by achieving the most effective utilization of assets while maintaining safety and integrity of the facilities. Clarifies and interprets standards and all other technical and code requirement, and relevant regulatory to ensure Company standards and practices are maintained.
Tasked with driving equipment, performance and reliability improvements to a critical assets across multiple facilities operations. Utilizing technical skills and knowledge of a variety of process systems, coupled with the expertise and competency in utilizing database and software development practices.
Ultimate objective will be to; achieve improvements and enhancements in company assets performance and availability. Highly capable to verify, evaluate and develop procedures and practices followed by other Company technical organizations. Support operations and production teams in achieving more output i.e. creating dashed boards for operation/process integrity windows etc. Assist in the development and integration of business performance software tools i.e. Meridium APM software etc. Develop and sustain stakeholder relationships to allow effective change management and adoption of new practices and utilization of new technologies.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner and adherence to the department policies, processes and procedures
Day- to-day operations
Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the department to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures
Smooth flow of day-to-day operations – Thorough study of existing plant facilities, age, current condition, to ensure integrity and availability of the plant facilities. Timely, efficient and effective advice
Engineering Consultation and Advice Provides in-house consultation and technical advice to ESD and other KJO departments. Anticipates and solves unprecedented engineering problems. Plans and develops engineering projects with unique or complex engineering problems involving exploration of subject matter, definition of scope, investigation and development of innovative concepts, approaches and solutions. Manages and coordinates all activities to operate, maintain and upgrade the Asset Performance Management reporting system to provide accurate and reliable data collection and reports.
Planning and tracking any authorized work to ensure that it is completed within the required time frame and in accordance with the scope of work.
Reviews and analyses data and reports to provide research and documentation for improving asset management program operation and performance.
Ability to read and analyse vibration spectrum to define mechanical faults, and plan spare parts inventory.
Capable to evaluate the assets and establish APM work processes with complete scope for remedy, modification, upgrade or replacement of the assets.
Set up targets and KPIs for established work processes to achieve them.
Exposure and capable of introducing the latest proven technology to improve integrity and reliability to the full utilization of facilities. Highly qualified to perform all related process engineering calculations required to demonstrate for process design and field modification works supporting for operations and reviewing projects’ deliverables. Oversees and monitors all aspects of applicable audits, prepares reports and responds to all requests posed by others( proponent, Maintenance, Auditor or inspection). Proficiency with the software’s/trends of vibration analysis, rotating equipment design and troubleshooting etc. Extensive use of the Data Base and relevant APM Software’s –
Quality of Mechanical Engineering consultation and technical advice, as reflected by acceptance of advice by Management. Quality of Project Plans and solutions developed
Technical Duties and Standards
Acts independently on technical matters. Clarifies and interprets standards and all other technical and code requirement to ensure Company standards are maintained. Performs complex specialised engineering assignments as technical expert

Reviews equipment quotation, purchase requests and bid summaries to provide sound advice. Inspects equipment at factory to ensure compliance with specifications and procurement documents. Quality of advice as reflected by acceptance

Project Management and Cost Control
Participate as a member of the Asset Management Systems team to provide asset management support systems to deliver value adding outcomes for KJO operation facility in a dynamic and changing integrated environment through effective Asset performance program
Empower a whole of life asset management and reliability focused culture within KJO Assets Systems team that reflects a high level of teamwork and collaboration and builds organizational capability.
Contribute to the achievement of the Asset Management Systems team's business targets, objectives, performance measures, safety responsibilities and continually seek to implement business performance improvement initiatives
Provides budgetary estimates for project involvement and implements project cost control procedures to ensure project costs are controlled within budgets
Quality of Project Plans and solutions developed. Project Costs are controlled within budgets
Mentoring
Oversees and monitors all aspects of applicable audits, prepares reports and responds to all requests posed by the internal or external auditor.
Provides technical leadership in development, mentoring and on the job training to other less experienced national engineers. In addition to quality in product performance of mechanical Engineering Specialist, his annual appraisal evaluations shall be credited in transferring knowledge to national Engineers.
Responsible for maintaining and understanding all continuous assessments of facilities condition Effective Leadership and technology/knowledge transfer is demonstrated through adequately trained Engineers for back up and replacement
Troubleshoots and investigates abnormal static equipment problems and provides remedial recommendations in a timely manner approach
Specifies the correct equipment and metallurgy for the service conditions
Accuracy of trouble shooting and problem diagnosis. Quality and speed in problem resolution/Customer satisfaction
Rotating Equipment
Determines the correct alignment values for rotating equipment and be able to conduct alignment checks in the field. Accuracy of alignment values for rotating equipment
Reporting
Prepares section reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards

Safety, Health & Environment
Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
Performs other related duties or assignments as directed. May be assigned special administrative or technical duties. Undertakes the responsibilities of the mechanical Engineer Specialist, when required, to ensure smooth and uninterrupted flow of work
Fluent in speaking and writing English language (Equiv. to KJO L6-Advanced).
