Looking for a Security Analyst for a company located in Chicago.� This position performs security monitoring, security and data/logs analysis, and forensic analysis, to detect security incidents, and performs incident response. Develops and maintains testing process for current, new, and modified storage appliances and software. . Maintains current knowledge of storage-related laws, trends, and issues, including current and emerging technologies and best practices. Develops strategies and policies to ensure best-practice based regulatory compliance and reduces the enterprises legal exposure. . Justifies expenditures on storage solutions through business cases, return on investment and total cost of ownership analyses. Transfers the storage architecture requirements into a solution configuration that will be installed and configured. Takes the architecture requirements and plans and develops a validation strategy and schedule for testing the solution before releasing to production. . Manages the purchase, installation, and configuration of new and existing storage devices and corresponding software. Oversees storage allocation to business units across the enterprise based on established requirements, available disk space, and future growth. . Ensures IT adherence to service level agreements regarding storage allocations, limitations, and availability. Anticipates, identifies, and oversees mitigation and response to storage access problems, retrieval issues, and storage device status issues. . Ensures that information storage and retention measures and equipment adhere to all applicable laws and regulations. Recommends and implements changes where necessary. Analyzes storage systems performance, collects information, and prepares summary reports. Performs capacity planning for production, data warehouse, reporting and other systems to include storage memory, CPU and load. . Manages and/or provides guidance to junior members of the team. Basic Qualifications & Interests . Bachelor's Degree and at least twelve (12) years of experience in the IT industry. . At least 8 years of experience in enterprise storage administration and Storage Resource Management (SRM) . At least 5 years of experience in Systems and/or Network Administration. . Establishes strategies for storage consolidation, centralization, and optimization to reduce downtime and costs while improving security and storage performance. Works closely with operations, project management, application development, network security, and DBA teams to develop scalable, maintainable, consistent, highly available storage architectures that meet; business objectives and set relevant service-level agreements. * Performs capacity planning analysis and other needs assessments to inform storage architecture strategy. * Designs redundant systems and policies for disaster recovery and archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of storage appliances and stored data assets. Develops procedures for backups and restores, as well as monitors the performance, success, or failure of these tasks. Defines, communicates, and ensures adherence to data storage retention policies and creates routines for end-users to facilitate storage best practices, including desktop storage administration. * Develops and maintains procedures for storage change management, availability management, backup management, incident management and process documentation. Develops and maintains testing process for current, new, and modified storage appliances and software. * Maintains current knowledge of storage-related laws, trends, and issues, including current and emerging technologies and best practices. Develops strategies and policies to ensure best-practice based regulatory compliance and reduces the enterprises legal exposure. * Justifies expenditures on storage solutions through business cases, return on investment and total cost of ownership analyses. Transfers the storage architecture requirements into a solution configuration that will be installed and configured. Takes the architecture requirements and plans and develops a validation strategy and schedule for testing the solution before releasing to production. * Manages the purchase, installation, and configuration of new and existing storage devices and corresponding software. Oversees storage allocation to business units across the enterprise based on established requirements, available disk space, and future growth. * Ensures IT adherence to service level agreements regarding storage allocations, limitations, and availability. Anticipates, identifies, and oversees mitigation and response to storage access problems, retrieval issues, and storage device status issues. * Ensures that information storage and retention measures and equipment adhere to all applicable laws and regulations. Recommends and implements changes where necessary. Analyzes storage systems performance, collects information, and prepares summary reports. Performs capacity planning for production, data warehouse, reporting and other systems to include storage memory, CPU and load. * Manages and/or provides guidance to junior members of the team. Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree and at least twelve (12) years of experience in the IT industry. * At least 8 years of experience in enterprise storage administration and Storage Resource Management (SRM) * At least 5 years of experience in Systems and/or Network Administration. * At least 5 years of experience in capacity planning systems and storage in a Real Time or near Real Time environment. * At least 5 years of experience in administering, troubleshooting, and supporting storage systems, such as EMC DMX/CX class and ECC. * Experience with storage consolidation of at least 2 Petabyte (PB) of storage spanning across more than 50 frames. * Experience with EMC hardware and software products, such as EMC Symmetrix, CLARiioN, Centera, Clerra, control/Cener, Network Backup and Cisco SAN products. * Experience with managing and supporting large data stores such as Oracle DBMS and Teradata.
