THE JOB

* To teach and assess the AAT qualification ensuring that the student learning experience is organised and structured.
* Devising appropriate schemes of work, lesson plans and individual learning plans.
* To review student progress ensuring completion of relevant documentation.
* To attend and be an active contributor to Team Meetings and Departmental Meetings.
* Develop and implement a variety of teaching and learning styles.
* Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
* Monitoring and assessing student achievement throughout their courses.
* Keep up to date with current developments in Accounting education and the world of business.
* Contribute to the development of the departments through team meetings and INSET.
* Contribute towards promoting a supportive learning environment.
* Participate appropriately in the College Appraisal Scheme.
* Other duties and responsibilities which might reasonably be required by the Principal.

THE CANDIDATE

* Both qualified (QTS) and non qualified teachers will be considered.
* It is desirable that applicants have experience of teaching or training in Accountancy.
* A relevant academic or professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or AAT) is essential as is extensive experience working in the industry.
* Ability to develop effective working relationships
* Ability to relate effectively to students, other staff and parents
* Awareness of the need to provide positive support to all students
* Energy, enthusiasm and a sense of humour
* Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
