The faculty of Creative Art, Media and Theatre is seeking to appoint a well qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Technical Theatre and Events Management.

The post sits within the Media and Theatre department which consist of 5 specialist teachers offering a range of courses including BTEC L2 Diploma and BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in both Performing and Production Arts, Film/TV, Games Design and Journalism. The department also offers HNC/D in Performing Art, Production Arts and Creative Media Production. The area is popular and successful with over 100 students engaged in post-16 studies and is now looking to expand into purpose built facilities which include a professional theatre with full fly gallery, a scenic construction area, a HD TV Studio, a Radio Studio and editing suite.

The successful candidate will drive the curriculum forward through a good working knowledge of professional theatre, particular experience in sound and light operations and design and/or stage management will be a distinct advantage.
The candidate will also be familiar with the BTEC specification at level 3 and 4 and have curriculum management experience with a creative approach to curriculum design and assessment.

Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and an appreciation of the uses of IT are essential, as is a commitment to excellence.

Interviews will take place on 17th and 18th June 2013, please ensure you are available to attend on this date.

The salaries are advertised as a range within the banding for the grade, and your appointment will be based on your skills and experience. Salaries are reviewed on an annual basis.
