Finance Director. Whole Foods Market, ‘America’s Healthiest Grocery Store’, was founded in Austin, Texas in 1980. The company has since become an internationally recognised, leading food retail brand with an emphasis on natural and organic products.

NASDAQ listed with revenues in excess of $11bn, Whole Foods Market has experienced extensive growth in recent years. As part of this expansion, there is now a priority to further invest and grow the Whole Foods brand throughout the UK. With seven stores firmly established and new sites ready to open, Whole Foods Market is seeking to recruit a commercially astute Finance Director to drive profitability and growth across the region. Key responsibilities include:

• Functioning as an executive strategic partner to regional leadership, collaborating to identify profit drivers, maximise returns on investment and developing and implementing both strategic and tactical solutions

• Leading and developing the finance team, driving staff development and ensuring the production of high quality and commercially focused management information

• Managing the financial planning & analysis function and providing regional leadership with a clear vision of both the short and long term financial opportunities and goals

• Developing, supporting and growing the business analysis function to drive store and project performance through regular review of profitability, identifying strengths and areas for improvement

• Partnering with regional leadership to support accelerated growth initiatives and taking an active role within the real estate/capital investment decision process ensuring that profitability and operational goals are met


• Overseeing the periodic accounting close process to assure the timely and accurate reporting of regional financial results including quarterly SOX and Board of Directors reporting

With a demonstrable background of tangible success, you will be a qualified accountant with a strong consumer background and ideally from the food retail sector. You will possess ‘hands on’ finance management experience, preferably from an international environment with first class analytical skills. You will have the credibility and gravitas to operate at board level and the willingness to embrace the Whole Foods core values of supporting team member happiness and excellence.
