My client, a highly successful distribution company is seeking a Management Accountant to strengthen their Finance team as a result of on going expansion.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the main purpose of the role is to take responsibility for the production of monthly management accounts to strict deadlines together with detailed sales analysis. You will also be involved in the preparation of budgets and forecasts and have the opportunity to assist various systems improvements and ad hoc commercial projects.
Ideally, you will be qualified or approaching qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA). You must have however, at least 2 years experience within an accounts function, preferably with previous exposure to management accounting. Management Accountant
to join the finance department team. Reporting to The Finance Director and working closely with the rest of the finance team and the Factory Managers, the key tasks for the Management Accountant will include:
• Co-ordinating and reporting on group stocks (including overseas subsidiaries).
• Maintain ERP product costings.
• Producing period end management accounts.
• Producing weekly labour, stock & other ad-hoc reports.
• Advising, training and challenging the operational teams on budgets, forecasting and areas of improvement.
• Carrying out labour costings & cap-ex appraisals.
• Mentoring other members of the team.
To be considered for this fantastic opportunity as Management Accountant you must:
• Be a qualified or soon to be qualified Accountant (Ideally CIMA).
• Have manufacturing experience and good report writing abilities.
• Be comfortable working with multiple IT systems (currently– MS Office, Crystal reports, Sage & EFACS, Gripple’s bespoke ERP system).
• Possess excellent Excel skills with good organisational ability.
• Be a flexible, team player, able to work with minimal supervision.
• Have the ability to explain financial information to non-financial colleagues and be comfortable working in both an office and factory environment.
