This school in Salisbury is a new and expanding school looking to hire a temporary to permanent member of staff to assist in this pupils aged 14 - 17 in their development and to enable them to go back into higher education or college. Performance is managed on helping children hit attendance, progression, social interaction and increase their abilities. The pupils abilities range from low to high and all cirriculum and studies are developed around each of their specific needs. Purpose and Objectives To work corporately, collaboratively and in keeping with the our client working ethos of a safe and caring environment enabling excluded children to go back into mainstream education i.e. college/FE/Apprenteships. To be responsible for creating an environment and atmosphere within which the needs of young persons can be met. To provide a positive schooling experience for all young persons and provide appropriate care and support as identified in the Young Persons care plan. Responsible to: Operations Manager and Project Leader. Working Relations Internal: To work closely and amicably with all other members of staff, whatever their role, placing the best interest of the young persons overall. To discuss situations and problems with your senior who if deemed necessary will pass onto the Operations Manager and Project Leader. External: To make every effort to establish and maintain co-operative, professional relationships with all external agencies involved with young persons. To remember the confidential nature of much of what we learn of the young persons and their families. To nurture contacts with local people and organisations, so that the home can function beneficially within the neighbourhood. Main Tasks To follow the personal development plan of each young person To assist in the education and pastoral care liaising with families to aid development of students in this school To support the young person in daily routines such as studying, tutoring, vocational study and activities and to provide emotional support. To support in the formal education of young persons by working with the Head of Education and their team To organise activities that are stimulating, varied and specific to the needs and interests of each young person. To provide young persons with confidence, inspiration, direction and guidance. To assist with the day-to-day running of the school and ensure a high standard of hygiene, safety and homeliness To assist young people in maintaining constructive contact with their families, friends and other significant people, as identified in the young person`s Care Plan To support, advise and monitor young people's health and wellbeing To encourage and support young people in expressing their views, wishes and complaints To assist young people to develop appropriate behaviour through the use of encouragement, praise, rewards and role modeling If this sounds like the ideal job for you contact Jackie on [contact details removed] for interviews and possibly an immediate start.

SEN school in the Southampton area is looking for an experienced teacher to teach key stage 3 and 4 aged learners who have a range of Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Ideal candidates will have experience teaching or supporting learners who display challenging behaviour, come from challenging backgrounds, display compulsive behaviour patterns, have difficulty with social interaction and are potentially emotionally fragile. Strong behaviour management skills are required and any de-escalation or restraint training (Team Teach, SCIPP, PRICE etc.) would be preferred but not essential. This is a long term/short term contract starting after the Easter holidays 2013.
