NQT Religious Education Teachers needed in Secondary Schools in Wigan/Salford We are constantly needing NQT Religious Education teachers for 3 month jobs on behalf of schools in the Wigan/Salford area. Are you a Newly Qualified Secondary Religious Education Teacher who is looking to gain experience in your first year of teaching and would like the opportunity to start your NQT Induction year? Randstad Education, Manchester's longest established specialist education agency, is offering NQT's the opportunity to work on a long or short term or daily supply basis for schools in the Wigan/Salford area. Randstad Education is the UK market leader in education recruitment. Helping teachers and support staff to find temporary and permanent education jobs for nearly twenty years through extensive partnerships with all organisations in the secondary, primary and SEN sectors. Working with over 2,500 schools each week we find the right match for your skills. Randstad Education provides a quality service for our candidates with a cycle of continuous professional development at the forefront of educational landscape. Randstand Education has been approached to support maternity leave and restructuring in several schools within Religious Education Departments. The schools would support you in your induction year as part of a bespoke CPD commitment to you within an open management and appraisal structure for staff. The Job The job would focus on developing successful, independent learners through an emphasis on fostering research skills, learning skills and attributes. The study of Religious Education should allow learners to improve their ability to find, organise and communicate their knowledge and understanding of the world around them. The schools believe this will prepare learners for their future lives. You would be expected to be involved in delivering the very best strategies for effective project-based learning; building further links with schools across the world to ensure you would be expected to deliver the Religious Education curriculum in the most effective way for the learners today. The opportunity to learn outside the classroom has many benefits and we enjoy the various trips taking learners on at Key Stage 3 and 4. For example, Year 8 trip to Liverpool to study two Christian places of worship; year 9 Local Buddhist Temple; Year 10 residential trip to London to see various places of worship and the Year 11 trips to York Minster. The job would also mean planning for and arrange, when possible, to get outside experts into school to work alongside our learners. Ideally all candidates must be either NQT or have recently received Qualified Teacher Status. The School The schools in the Wigan/Salford area are world-renowned for its curriculum development with emphasis on project-based learning and have a focus on learning to learn at all levels. The schools pride themselves about learning as a community. It is achieved by making learning the focus of all that the school do, by consulting with the foremost experts in the subject, by reading and by thinking. The mission is to put into practice what we know about learning. Many schools focus on Project Based Learning that combines carrying out projects with reflecting on the learning process in order to help learners build up learning dimensions which they are increasingly likely to need in their real lives. There are a small number of other schools who have adopted Project Based Learning as part of their curriculum. The Child What the learners in the schools need to develop is the capacity to be effective learners in a very rapidly changing world. Yes, they need qualifications. But if these are just acquired through sitting silently learning by heart for short term memory in exams, then we are not building effective 21st century learners. The learners also work on co-constructed projects, through which they take ownership and control of their learning. They have the opportunity to learn about things that matter to them; they have to do the planning, research and the making of meaning. Sometimes learners have to do this by themselves and at other times work in teams. They often have to work beside people from outside school and they have to present their learning to others. If you are interested in this role please submit your CV or even better, call Paul or Dave or Rachael or Toby on [contact details removed] now to arrange your interview at our Manchester office. Theses job is one of many we are currently working on for our schools in Greater Manchester. (All applicants must meet Randstad Education's strict recruitment criteria and hold a clear enhanced Criminal Record Bureau Disclosure.)
