My Client is looking for a Welding Technology Engineer to develop the company’s position as a leading pressure vessel fabricator.

Key Responsibilities and accountabilities
• To maintain, renew and develop Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) to meet the requirements of ASME IX, ASME VIII and other relevant codes and standards.
• To ensure that the company plans ahead and executes the necessary actions to upgrade welding qualifications to achieve on-going compliance
• Develop and introduce new welding technologies and methodologies to improve both quality and productivity considering fabrication in austenitic stainless steel, duplex steels and nickel based alloys.
• To develop the company welding capability and welding engineering capacity so that the company can increasingly develop and offer solutions to clients.
• Develop new procedures in new alloys to include titanium and nickel based super alloys to meet the needs of new and developing markets.
• Review client specifications and ensure that company WPS and PQRs are compliant with market needs.
• Develop and maintain the company procedures and systems to ensure compliance with relevant client and industry specifications.

Relevant Experience and Attributes
Educated to degree level ideally Metallurgy, Materials or Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Status Certified International Welding Engineer (IWE) preferred.
At least seven years’ industrial and engineering experience

Technical welding capability must include:
• Arc welding process: GTAW, GMAW and SAW
• Heavy wall pressure vessel fabrication

An understanding of relevant international standards and testing methods for metallurgical investigation and micro/macrographic examination of welds.
