A leading retail business in Peterborough is looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to join the team! Reporting to the Financial Controller, the candidate will support decision making from a financial perspective, while interpreting market, financial and statistical information to enable the business to make timely and informed decisions.

The candidate will be tasked with continuously monitoring, developing and interpreting appropriate and timely KPIs for the business, as well as train and educate business managers in the budgeting and forecasting processes, recommending improvements as necessary. Decision support will also play a key part of the role, with the successful applicant advising on competitor activity and market trends, responding promptly to queries from business representatives and external parties, together with ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, statutory, tax and financial policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will be:

• A professionally qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA or equivalent) with at least 3 years experience.

• In possession of significant managing accounting experience.

• Able to communicate effectively with and challenge senior management.

• Able to maintain attention to detail whilst also being capable of thinking at a broader, strategic level.

• A team player, comfortable with operating within multi-disciplinary teams.

• Able to analyse large volumes of data.

• In possession of strong Excel skills.A good working knowledge of Hyperion or other planning and reporting tools, and a good understanding of the media industry would also be advantageous.

C# Developer / ASP.Net Developer (e-Commerce) to £38K

Salary: £28-38k per annum

ROLE:
The C# Developer / ASP.Net Developer will be accountable for C# .Net engineering development of the Navitaire NewSkies platform to improve the application performance, stability and to drive business value using agile development methodology adhering to standards, processes and best practices adopted by flythomascook.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Implement solutions using appropriate technologies within agreed timescales and quality standards.
b) Produce finalised code templates, that comply with web standards and guidelines, are multi-platform and adhere to the technical capabilities of flythomascook.com that are incorporated into the NewSkies framework. Produce marketing, promotional and graphical elements and ad-hoc work for both internal and external clients to specification.
c) Support critical Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) services supplied by external media agency both from a technical PHP development role and design/creative management.
d) Provide support for external businesses partners using flight availability data) both in the data caching process and support for the Navitaire API.
e) Proactively contribute to and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders and teams across the business to help develop a clear strategy and road map for flythomascook.com’s technical requirements.
f) Deliver documentation comprising of use cases, technical specifications, site architectures, logical data models and wireframes.
g) Configure and maintain the multiple development environments, ensuring they are kept stable and fit for purpose.
h) By developing a thorough understanding and analysis of the business needs, design technical solutions based upon the flythomascook roadmap that are scalable, robust and efficient within the parameters defined by the Navitaire NewSkies framework using appropriate Object Orientated methods.
i) Provide, carry out and evaluate application and user interface testing, using multiple methods such as test scripts, locally managed applications such as Selenium and commercial third parties like Site Confidence, using best practice methods.
j) Accountable for engagement in the development SCRUM meetings of the development teams.
k) Use repository management tools to provide a stable and accountable code base. Provide managed releases including documentation, plans and communications for all code deployments to a production environment.
l) Deliver documentation comprising of use cases, technical specifications, site architectures, logical data models and wireframes.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Thorough knowledge of Object Orientated server side development utilising Microsoft .NET technologies (C#, XML, XSLT, IIS7). Excellent client-side development skills utilising HTML, CSS, JS and JQuery.
b) Code management tools and development environment knowledge using code repositories such as SVN/Tortoise and IDEs such as Visual Studio
c) Experience of designing for mobile browsers and users. Stong experience within e-Commerce IT Organisations.
d) Good interpersonal, excellent verbal, written communication and organisational skills.
e) Excellent Knowledge of SCRUM and Agile principles.
f) Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions.
g) Willingness to ‘go the extra mile’ in working beyond the usual times and locations to maintain the business.
h) BA/BS degree in Computer Science Engineering or other relevant discipline e.g. Business Information Systems, Computer Engineering.

DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
