ROLE:
An opportunity has arisen in the East Anglian region for an Operations Manager. You will be working with their Express Fuel Site Stores.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Using Customer Viewpoint to understand the customer perceptions of their stores and ensuring Store Managers act upon the feedback.
b) Standing over the customer shopping trip through the completion of both planned and customer structured visits, providing feedback to build continuous improvement.
c) Recognising and celebrating success when their team deliver excellent service.
d) Ensuring their stores are recognised as an important part of their local communities, building relationships and personally getting involved with local initiatives.
e) Leading their team to grow sales, maximise profit and manage stores investment.
f) Using their expertise and knowledge of trading opportunities to identify ways to continually grow the business and share these with their colleagues. They support the expansion of the Format, through ensuring the delivery on investment provided by new stores and refresh.
g) Identifying trends across their stores, they ensure Store Managers have plans to improve Steering Wheel performance and coach them to deliver these.
h) Using audits as an important tool to support convergence and build capability and consistency across their stores.
i) Managing the performance of Store Managers, they provide open and honest feedback on what they do well and where improvements need to be made and coaching them how to meet these goals.
j) Coaching Store Managers to manage performance, deliver objectives and sustain change in their stores. Developing their future leaders through leading talent spotting and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to get on if they want to.
k) Supporting Store Managers to identify and appoint Team Leaders. They stand over the appointment of key roles in their stores. Ensuring Store Managers have the correct training and ongoing coaching to build their capability, raise performance and remain legal. Continually developing their own technical and leadership skills to be an expert in their role.
l) Being the expert on routines and processes to ensure they trade legally. Ensuring Store Managers are aware of the security tools available to them to provide a safe place to work and shop.
m) Providing support for their stores going through any major incidents. Colleague safety is always their priority.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) You will need to be an inspirational person with the flair, drive and dedication, to work in the tightest ship in retail.
b) In terms of your background, you will bring extensive supervisory experience and leadership skills gained in a dynamic Fuel and retail environment.
c) As a person you are driven, decisive, commercially astute, and full of initiative. What’s more, you are brilliant at getting the best out of people, and as determined as they are to succeed and grow. In short, you are a high achiever.
d) The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing several Fuel sites.
e) This role is a higher level 2 and the ideal candidates will have a background in area managing several fuel sites. Applications from candidates who are Deputy or Store Managers with other retailers like Asda, Morrison, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose will also be of interest to me as most of these stores have fuel sites.

The role

* Co-ordinating and controlling the month-end close, consolidation and reporting process for the group
* Meeting the reporting needs of Acteon's investors
* Maintenance and development of the group's internal financial control framework, including liaison with the Acteon's risk team
* Managing the group's year-end audit process
* Managing the group's budget process
* Ownership of the reporting process and financial controls for 9 head office companies
* Providing ad-hoc support to senior management for M&A and other corporate development activity. Such support may include planning and modelling, transaction support, business integration and acquisition accounting
* Staff management and development

Key Experience / Qualifications:
* Graduate, qualified accountant with 5+ year PQE
* Previous exposure to group reporting within a sizeable business
* Significant track record of delivery
* Experience of working within an international group is desirable

* Transparent and inspiring management style
* High levels of energy, drive and resilience, with the ability to respond well under pressure
* Ability to influence senior management, the Group Finance team and Acteon subsidiary teams, by combining a strong intellect, clarity of thought and a commercial outlook
