Our Client is a vibrant and growing alcohol and drugs charity with 37 years' experience working with individuals, families and communities affected by addiction. They promote change and transform lives. They are evolving in an exciting way, raising their profile as a dynamic value led charity.
As part of a professional team, the successful candidate will help to deliver a highly effective substance misuse service placing service users and their needs at the centre of everything they do, to help them achieve their full potential.
The work will be outcome focused and clearly measurable and will include a whole range of interventions, such as: assessments, care planning, advice and information and harm reduction all of which are delivered through 1-1 support, key working and group work. Although based in their Rochdale centre this role will also be required to cover Primary Care Services and outreach work.
A holistic view is required where issues such as housing/accommodation, mental health concerns, employment/education and any offending behaviours are addressed in conjunction with substance misuse issues.
To ensure the above work is conducted to a high standard we require all applicants to have a relevant level of demonstrable experience of working with individuals affected by substance misuse and their families, along with an up-to-date knowledge of substance misuse issues. The ability to engage well with this client group is key as are the skills to help motivate them to their desired goal. A relevant professional qualification e.g. in social work, criminal justice is desirable but education to A level or equivalent is essential as is the ability to evidence competencies that match the role including managing a significant caseload (including complex issues), report writing, awareness of risk, safeguarding.
This role requires flexibility, passion and an enthusiasm for the work we do, supporting continuous improvement of our services to enhance the experiences and achievements of our service users.
Candidates for this role will be educated to A level or equivalent and will have experience and up to date knowledge of working with individuals affected by substance misuse and their families. Their roles involve working with vulnerable adults and so, enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks are required for all of their staff. Although cautions and convictions are not necessarily a bar to gaining employment with them, they would risk assess the details of these on an individual basis. Our Client does not accept CVs.
