Approval Scheme Manager - East Yorkshire - £30,000 - £35,000

My client is a UK trade body representing the collective interests of a group of manufacturers in the UK that turnover in excess of £6bn per annum and employs over 100,000 people. They have been established for over 70 years in the UK and are a non-profit organisation working very closely with their members to ensure the industry delivers high quality products and services.

Reporting to the Director of Technical Services, the Approvals Scheme Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of field based staff that carries out product approval inspections at manufacturing facilities throughout the UK and Europe.

You will need to manage and deliver a professional and effective service to industry, and advise industry members on changes to relevant technical standards that impact on the Approval Scheme and to assist in the delivery of product approvals on time and within budget.

An excellent understanding of Microsoft applications such as Excel and Word is required. You should be an organised, methodical, enthusiastic and possess excellent attention to detail. You should also possess excellent communication skills, as you will be in contact with manufacturers and suppliers on a daily basis.

As well as knowledge of statistics and budgetary matters, a strong technical background is important because the Approval Scheme Manager is expected to provide technical advice to the field based staff. An understanding of British & European legislation and standards would also be advantageous.
