The vacancy is for an approvals engineer who will be responsible for international approvals for the products, dealing with different international approval standards (intrinsically safe, R+TTE, EMC, UL, PPE) looking after the approvals for new products and yearly submissions with different approval bodies. Planning, documentation, preparing and tracking the progress. Supporting design engineers and portfolio managers in approval questions. Being part of the global network and doing scouting activities regarding changes in international standards.
The role requires experience of electronics and manufacturing environments and you will be working with test engineers and other approvals engineers to reach the companies goals. The approvals covered in the role will be both electronic and mechanical.

Based in North of UK, this is a leading Defence based Electronics company seeking several SMPS / Power Supply Design Engineers to join a team of bright engineers and take responsibility for cutting edge, state-of-the-art technology.
The company boast excellent on-site facilities and you will be part of a dynamic, technology-rich and next gen technology for the military and aerospace fields. You will be responsible for the full product life cycle (initial proposal to final production) and take a lead stance in designing, developing and implementing Power Supplies (PSU) and Power Electronics circuitry, DC-DC, AC-DC, DC-AC as well as various topologies. You will work in cohesion with other members of the team including mechanical designers, software engineers, production and manufacturing teams. You will also be responsible for providing technical clarification of designs, participate in risk assessment, have continuous interaction with project leaders and have a demonstrable track record in SMPS, Power Electronics, Analog / Analogue Hardware (HW) design and development, ideally from a defence background.
The ideal candidate will be / have:
- Degree educated with 2.1 or above in Electronics Engineering or related.
- Well versed in Power Electronics / Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) design/development
- Familiarity with EMC/EMI, defence background.
- DC-DC, AC-DC and DC-AC power conversion / converters as well as different topologies.

Quality Engineer Reporting to the Quality Manager, the post holder will assist and maintain the QMS. Monitoring supplier quality and performance and be responsible for improving business KPIs. Track supplier quality performance measurements for suppliers (KPIs) and participate in supplier performance reviews. Manage Supplier Change Requests Support Incoming Quality Control (IQC). Coordination of MRB activities to the business unit to ensure the timely assessment of potential non-conforming products. Support risk documentation review activities and ensure that all failure modes in process have been identified and addressed. Skills: Requirements: Quality tools. Expertise in PPAP, 8D and FAI Working in an ISO9001 and ISO14001 environments Understanding of Six Sigma. Diploma/Degree Educated. Background in Electronics. Excellent PC skills MS Office.
