Exciting opportunity – Quality Manager
Our client has a reputation for excellence in durable, lightweight, precision engineered instruments and low power motorised platforms and associated products
Reporting to the Managing Director the post holder will be a member of the senior management team. This role is primarily responsible for the strategic and operational management of Quality, and Health & Safety of the site. This includes regulatory compliance i.e. ISO9001, 14001 and 18001 and related EU directives. He/she will also make a significant contribution to manufacturing related projects. As part of this role the post holder will:
Train employees on quality objectives.
Be responsible for co-ordinating and leading regulatory and certification inspections and subsequent implementation activities.
Act as an internal and external consultant on quality and regulatory issues working in either a leadership or team role within a cross functional team
Lead teams or task groups especially when objectives are quality related
Provide support /review projects and or work groups to produce the desired outcome.
Provide Technical and Managerial expertise and creativity used to evaluate proposed solutions, adaptations and modifications to projects to include:Resolve Quality related problems within functional areas of the business, recommending and driving changes where necessary through the review, evaluation and development of personnel.
o New Product Introductions
o Product & Process Changes and Related Validation Projects
o Support for the Production Floor
Develop and direct the implementation of plans to achieve Quality / H&S goals and objectives within functional areas
Work with internal and external resources, customers and suppliers to resolve problems.
Recommend changes to other areas that will improve the overall effectiveness of the organisation
Participate and promote subordinate involvement on cross functional teams
Minimum Knowledge/Qualifications
Proven, demonstrable and thorough knowledge of ISO [contact details removed] , ISO14001, ISO 18001, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
Knowledge and experience gained through a recognised qualification in an Engineering related discipline with a minimum of five years experience in a relevant industry sector
Knowledge of related manufacturing technologies in electro mechanical production techniques and of software quality management.
