Location: Manchester
Salary: £35-40k with Car allowance

ROLE:
The Estimating Manager / Bid Manager will provide an estimating, bid writing, business development resource which ultimately assists the BU North team in generating and delivering new facilities maintenance contracts and service business, generating new customers and contracts that ultimately lead to increased turnover and profitable income for the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Generate new client business and sell to these customers’ new service and facilities maintenance contracts that generate new profitable income for the business.
b) Achieve set/agreed targets for the products and services of SPIE Matthew Hall.
c) Accurately estimate new Facilities Management contracts to ensure a profitable return on all new business with close attention to SPIE Matthew Hall commercial tendering policies and procedures.
d) Working within a given area as the representative for SPIE Matthew Hall, visiting and calling on customers wherever necessary to ensure the highest standards of customer service and customer care. Provide information on all customer contacts.
e) Maintain a close working relationship with Mobile Operations, ensuring cohesion in any new business venture. Maintain a good knowledge of the industry and local business opportunities to ensure effective promotion and local exposure for SPIE Matthew Hall.
f) Take ownership of any tender/bid submitted from conception to completion. Be able to produce reports via the computer system to reflect current/future status.
g) Carry out staff appraisals for managers who are direct reports setting out training and development programs as required.
h) Production and maintenance of a regional management succession plan ensuring all training and development requirements to maintain the plan are implemented.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Experience in a similar Estimating, Bid Writing role whilst working for a Facilities Maintenance service provider.
b) Conversant with a wide range of mechanical and electrical building service systems and equipment.
c) Experience of working within a team to deliver bespoke facilities maintenance solutions.

DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Dealt with larger Facilities management contracts.
b) Demonstrable expertise in delivering service excellence.
c) Proven Business Development expertise.

You may have experience of the following: Bid Manager, RFP, Facilities Management, RFT, Business Development Manager, Estimator, Building Services, Estimation Manager, Building Surveyor, etc.

Working Capital Management and Balance Sheet Analysis
