Network Engineer position for a leading provider of network services, managed hosting, data network infrastructure, network storage and network security solutions.

Network Engineer Responsibilities:

• Ensure the smooth operation of computer facilities, to manage their installation and configuration: the daily running of a backbone
• Be in charge of the smooth functioning of LAN / MAN / WAN that is to say ensure support level 2 and 3 switches, routers, load balancing etc
• Administer systems and networks: Implementation of platforms
• Ensure Engineering service in MPLS networks
• Maintain servers planned HNO
• Search causes of incidents, resolutions and feedback to customers
• Manage peerings and load balancing between network links
• Provide technical support: Install physical room accommodation
• Take part in meetings: analysis of requests for development platforms, monitoring progress with the project manager

Network Engineer Experience Required:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a network engineering role for a Telecommunications Carrier / Internet Service provider.
• Hands on experience of protocols: Ethernet, IP, MPLS, VPLS, BGPv4/v6, OSPF v2 / 3, RIP, EIGRP
• Hands on experience of Cisco networking equipment
• Knowledge of Unix systems
• Ability to plan, prepare action plans, costs…
• Autonomous and rigorous, your determination and your excellent relationship skills make you a vital employee.
• You have a higher diploma from an Engineering school or University

IP Network Engineer - Our client is a major tier 1 global carrier with one of the world’s largest international IP networks. The wholesale team provide IP Network Services to other Telecoms Operators, ISPs and Network Solutions partners across EMEA and worldwide. Due to growth they are now looking to recruit an IP Network Engineer.


IP Network Engineer Role:

• Provisioning – assigning IP addresses, router ports, cabling demarcs. Configuring routers with customer configurations (BGP, static routing, etc.), using in-house config tools. Working with customers to turn-up new services and ensure proper connectivity prior to handover as a “live” service.
• Moves/Adds/Changes/Deletions. Perform customer migrations, additions & changes to existing configurations (occasionally out-of-hours), and complete customer cancellation/termination requests.
• Assist Wholesale Project Management to process Sales Order Forms into the ticketing & CRM system.
• Troubleshooting customer-related issues. Occasionally support NOC/Operations teams in troubleshooting customer issues, where applicable.
• Pre-sales. Support Sales teams in technical aspects of orders during pre-sales discussions with prospective customers.
• Liaising with internal teams (Project Management, Order Management, etc.) to ensure customers are provisioned / disconnected in a timely manner.
• Maintain documentation to a high standard to ensure continued efficiency.
• Working with IP Engineering Team to highlight potential resource issues (router ports, backbone capacity) within the European IP network, or to put forward suggestions for improvements to the customer’s experience.


IP Network Engineer Experience:

• Understanding of the design and operation of IP backbone and access network. Some experience of Cisco/Juniper devices and configurations.
• Must be technically experienced with a keen eye for detail, but also have excellent people skills to establish a good rapport with customers and internal colleagues.
• Should be able to multi-task and work flexibly, both as a team player but also independently.
• Meticulous, understands the need for consistent record-keeping / documentation.
• Strategic and logical thinking.
• Managing own projects and achieving targets with colleagues in teamwork.



IP Network Engineer desirable Education:

• Desirable: Low-level technical certification from a major routing vendor - CCNA/JNCIA etc


This role is based in the City of London offices. Standard hours are 09:00 – 17:30 Monday to Friday.

ROLE:
The Avaya Pre-Sales Support / Client Support role will primarily support commercial sales and pre-sales team by providing technical expertise during designing and pricing Avaya solutions, support pricing and input for tenders and contractual documentation. RESPONSIBILITIES:

b) Sound technical knowledge of VOIP/IP Telephony and Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) technologies.

d) Fully competent in Microsoft Word – to create professional responses to tenders.
e) Knowledge of Microsoft Excel – to calculate and price solutions. Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint – to create concise presentations with clear messages. Knowledge of Microsoft Visio – to articulate design of solutions.
f) Grasp of Computer and Telephony Integration (CTI) using Avaya Application Enablement (AES).

b) Designer (ASD) tool would be advantageous, but training would be provided.
c) Some knowledge or experience of working with Nortel Products an advantage. Some project delivery experience an advantage.
d) Ideally some exposure to a CRM such as Salesforce.
e) Accredited in chosen area of skill i.e. Avaya, and CISCO CCNA, and/or desire and ability to become accredited.

ROLE:
The Infrastructure Manager / Programme Manager will Instigate, investigate, present, control and manage all major Random House UK Group projects relating to the Technology Services Group. You will also manage and mentor the Project management team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Manage all major projects and some minor relating to infrastructure within overall strategy for the I.T. Division.

d) Have good communication, inter-personal and project management skills.
