This is a great opportunity for graduates seeking school-based experience before they embark on a career in education. This experience will give extra support to a PGCE/GTP course application as well as giving the opportunity to try a classroom role before making a long-term commitment.

Cover supervisor responsibilities include supervising work that has been set, managing the behaviour of pupils, responding to questions from pupils, assisting pupils in activities set and collecting completed work after lessons across the range of subjects.

In order to apply you must have:

Minimum of 40 days working with groups of pupils/young people in the last two years
Confident, positive and professional approach to delivering lessons
Knowledge of core subjects

Evidence of managing behaviour of young people in a group environment

For the successful Teaching Assistant, this part time role will commence immediately until the end of the spring term with the potential to extend further.

The successful Teaching Assistant will be expected to support an ASD pupil in Year 7. Due to statement funding, they require 1:1 support for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. You will work closely with the class teacher to implement IBPs and to liaise with the school SENCO on the pupil's development. You will need to have broad experience of working with similar pupils in a mainstream education setting and have the compassion to support and nurture each pupil.

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant post you will:
- Have a minimum of 6 months referenceable experience of supporting SEN pupils in the last 2 years
- Hold Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Have an ability to work as part of a team coordinating the care of a pupil (including class teacher, parents and outside agencies
- Have the ability to implement and contribute to IBPs

Successful appointment will be dependant on obtaining an Enhanced CRB Disclosure.
