An opportunity has arisen for a numerically-minded graduate to demonstrate key analytical skills to investigate the credit risk performance for our client’s and its different markets. Methodical by nature, you will build the skills to be adept at monitoring and evaluating lending and collections, reporting on your findings using specialist analytical techniques. You will identify issues through your research and develop solutions to improve the performance encompassing statistical data to interpret the reports. Working on a variety of projects at any one time, you will utilise your data mining experience to glean the information and help increase the revenue, minimising the risk and cutting the cost. You will develop and test scorecards to diagnose strategy problems and monitor improvements of the operational performance. Working in a small team, you will provide analytical support in the setting of optimal strategies and be a key figure in the development of the Credit Risk Scoring Systems. Demonstrating signs of commercial awareness, you will not only identify and analyse the credit risk, you will be able to see the bigger picture and assess the relevance to the overall business strategies and performance.
The ideal candidate will be aiming to demonstrate strong skills in data analysis. With knowledge of financial products and the relevant market, you will have gained experience in process improvement, particularly with regards to data accuracy and reporting through your degree or work. You will possess strong problem-solving abilities, excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Adaptable to the changes of work, you will be able to work under pressure and will be keen to acquire new skills and knowledge. You will have good technical skills and will have knowledge of SAS / SPSS / SQL and MS Office application. Degree educated or equivalent, your qualification will numerically bias (such as Statistics / Data Modelling) and you will utilise your skills in this informative role.

Responsibilities
• Be the IT lead on commercial input into bid documents, helping create innovative solutions, and assist with producing cost and pricing and written responses including pricing mechanism.
• Working with IT to assess new and innovative IT solutions to establish cost to the business and benefit to clients
• Work as part of the Commercial pricing team as the IT specialist on new bids, transformational deals, contract renewals and new activities with existing clients.
• Support Pricing for UK and South Africa locations
• Challenge IT on the solution and pricing assumptions to deliver a robust price balancing the need to deliver value for money whilst balancing the risks of the deal and the margin return for the business
• Review both cash and P&L impact of the deal
• Develop and present commercial solutions to senior management to agree implementation of proposals
• Drive input with Operations and Sales to deliver client and business requirements of the priced solution and evaluate new commercial opportunities

The Role
Reporting to the Departmental Credit Manager you will monitor and evaluate trends associated with a range of Financial Products, identifying and resolving any product performance issues using retrospective and prospective analytical techniques. You will undertake and complete new and existing key business projects, taking into account the broader business picture, including financial and operational impact. You will further develop, test and monitor scorecards and advise on new developments and strategies as appropriate and provide assistance on the design, specification and creation of regular MI systems based in analysis work undertaken. You will further be responsible for the upkeep of associated policy and procedures including the delivery and facilitation of strategy decisions.
You will be highly numerate with 1/2 experience in credit/strategy analysis, alternatively you will be a recent graduate possessing a mathematic or statistical degree with some work experience gained in a suitably similar business sector/role. Previous experience of SAS, SQL and Excel VB skills would be advantageous however full training would be provided for graduates.
