Our client is an established engineering manufacturer based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. They are now recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer, who will have exposure to production, purchasing and planning.

Mechanical Design Engineer Candidate Ideal:
• Experience working in an engineering (mass) production company.
• Have knowledge of production planning, MRP and labour planning.
• Have a knowledge of steel grades.
• Have experience purchasing engineered components.
• Possess a BEng in Mechanical/Production Engineering or equivalent.

Mechanical Design Engineer Role
The role will require the candidate to provide cover for the production planner and be responsible for purchasing of non-stock items. They suitable candidate will be responsible for mechanical design of products and equipment and look at the design and maintenance of production machinery. They will need to look analytically at the mechanical aspects of customer complaints. It is a varied and interesting role looking at design, purchasing, quality and production planning.
