Assistant Engineer (Highways)

Our client based in Rochdale are looking for an experienced (public sector preferred) assistant engineer to join their projects team on a temporary basis for upto 2years* subject to project implementation.
What is the purpose of the role?
Assist the team with all activities relating to the planning and implementation of Highways project.
What will this role involve?
* Carry out specialist investigations.
* Maintain high technical standards consistent with the project brief.
* Deal with project related correspondence.
* Attend meetings with the client and other organisations as required.
* Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation.
* Manage and mentor graduate engineers
* Supervising and coordinating the work of others
* Good communication skills at all levels
What are we looking for?
* Qualified to HND / Degree level or equivalent in civil engineering or related subject

We are seeking to recruit a number of Internal Audit & Risk Seniors to work within a Top 20 firm. The team is productive, successful and expanding and has several specialist areas within a broad range of public and private sector clients.
The role will involve running audits and risk assignments at client sites, liaising directly with client staff up to CEO level and managing junior staff.
You must be IIA, ACA, ACCA or CIPFA qualified with strong Internal Audit and Risk experience. However, this experience can have been gained in either the Profession, the Public Sector or the Private. It is essential that you have a strong ability to build relationships with clients and a high degree of common sense!
The role is based in Manchester but will require working from client sites, although no more than 25% overnight travel will be required.
