A graduate with a real determination for inspiring young primary aged children is immediately required for a Teaching Assistant role in Worsley. The Head teacher of my Client Primary School, is looking for a candidate with a strong academic background, and the ability to engage children with varying levels of ability.
This is a rare opportunity in a School of this kind, as the current Teaching Assistant in the Year 3 class is now on long term absence. You will provide general classroom support, to a well behaved class of 30. Working along side an experienced teacher, who is also the key stage 2 co-ordinator in School, you will gain valuable experience if teaching is your long term goal.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be required to work with pupils on an individual basis and also in small groups. No day will be the same, you will support high achievers and encourage them to continue their good work and also help pupils with low levels of attainment to reach their expectations. Any previous experience in a classroom is desirable but not essential, a candidate with a determined and focused approach will be given full support for this role.
Last inspection determined this School to be Outstanding, with high levels of teaching across the age range and exceptional management from the SLT. The School is around average in size with just over 220 pupils on roll, the number of pupils with EAL and special educational needs is just below the national average.
This role is initially on a two term contract until the end of academic year 2013, the role of teaching assistant requires a confident and well organised candidate who is able to think on their feet. Any previous experience working with children would be beneficial, as the Head teacher is looking to interview the successful candidate as soon as possible.

My Client School in Manchester are looking to increase their support staff after the February half term break, ideally they are looking for a talented graduate who has previous teaching assistant experience. The role will mainly be working with KS4 pupils who are gearing up for their GCSE exams; you will need to have a strong academic record and the ability to engage pupils who are struggling to reach the C grade.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will report directly to the Head of English who has been a pivotal member of the department for more than 10 years. You will have a variety of responsibilities in this role which will directly influence your teaching ability and be a perfect experience if you are due to start a PGCE/Teacher training in September.
Any experience working with the current curriculum would be an advantage for this role, however the HOD is looking for a graduate who can build rapport with targeted pupils and get them back on track. If you have any experience leading small group work, or 1:1/1:2 English intervention sessions then we would love to hear from you.
The School is located east of Central Manchester in an area that is easily reachable via public transport.
