Are you an experienced Design Engineer with an Engineering qualification? Do you have experience of Leading a small Design team (Mechanical and Electrical)? Do you have hands on CAD experience? If so we want to hear from you.

Our client based in Kettering has a new permanent opportunity for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to lead a small team of electrical and mechanical designers who are responsible for the design and development of electro and mechanical machines.

Duties will include:

* Contributing to design solutions as a hands on 3D CAD user.
* Develop the departments integrity of all documentation from specification to user instructions.
* Lead the machine development program, including cross functional development groups.
* Ensure compliance with legislative requirement, and that sound records and technical files are maintained.
* Lead the team in development of improved systems and upgrades to the Inventor CAD system.
* Contribute to effective value engineering programs.
* Facilitate team working and the development of the design and development process.
* Contribute to the development of strategy within the department and the provisions of customer support.
* Customer contacts at all levels will also be required and a proportion of overseas travel is anticipated.

Experience Required

3D Inventor CAD user

A proactive leader with proven supervisory people management skills

Systematic and analytical problem solving skills

Customer facing skills

Willing and able to travel overseas on occasions

Innovative Designer

Willing to travel overseas on occasion
