What is the purpose of the role?

As a Client Project Manager you will lead a multi-discipline project team within a partnering environment. You will ensure that programmes of work deliver the objectives, and risks of the project are managed in line with business targets, alongside health and safety compliance.

You will take a lead role in the monitoring and forecasting of project expenditure and programme, whilst ensuring the effective delivery of the project .You will be responsible for identifying, communicating and reporting changes along with risk mitigation measures.

What skills are we looking for?

You must have the ability to work within a partnering environment, form and maintain excellent internal and external working relationships and be able to facilitate, mediate and resolve project issues.

To be successful you must have strong commercial understanding, programme monitoring and forecasting skills to ensure robust financial and commercial management.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:

You will have experience of building and maintaining effective internal and external relationships along with experience of project management and planning and financial / budget management.
An understanding of contract management is also essential as is the ability to present and communicate complex information to a wide range of audiences.
You will also have experience of influencing cross business teams and partnerships.
As you will be required to travel to different locations a full valid UK driving licence is essential.

Ideally you will have previous experience gained within the water or waste water sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To take ownership of assigned projects and work with the engineering and operations teams, subcontractors and customers to deliver successful project outcomes in accordance with the company’s ISO9001 procedures, agreed budgets and timescales.

This will include:

* setting clear objectives for the project teams;
* preparing and monitoring work plans for staff and teams to deliver the objectives;
* managing and controlling project documentation;
* managing and controlling the project phase review process;
* proactively monitoring project progress to provide timely warnings of any potential problems and associated solutions; and
* Reporting project progress to the Business Director and Senior Management Team on a routine basis.

For customer funded projects:

* To manage projects so as to ensure that the customer is happy to place future business with the company
* To support the Business Director Systems and Sales & Marketing Teams to secure follow on business; and
* To represent the company in a professional manner with customers at all times.
* To assist the Business Directors to identify training or development needs for project staff.
* To work with the Business Director and Sales & Marketing Team to generate costed proposals for new business.
* To carry out any other related tasks as may be requested from time to time by the Business Director

Additional Info

* This is a contract position being offered for one year only with a start date of possibly mid-June.
* Would consider relocation expenses for the right candidate.
* Package will depend on experience but is likely to be in the range 50-60K

We are looking to recruit a Research Accountant. The successful candidate will provide specialist financial management and administrative support to EMR's research programmes. This key post will be the interface between the administration and the research and establish professional and productive relationships with a wide range of funders and other stakeholders.

Main job activities

Administration of awarded research grants/funding

- Preparation of claims, invoices and reports to funders in a timely manner in the required format
- Management accounting service for projects
- Monitoring spending ensuring it is contained within budget
- Prepare forecasts as required
- Review and assessment of glasshouse and farm costs charged to projects
- Provide and comment on key performance indicators
- Assessment of vacancy requests for new research posts

Preparation of grant/funding proposals

Management of finance team

- Responsibility for payroll and pensions administration

You will have a strong financial background with significant administrative research and costing experience in a similar organisation and will have knowledge and understanding of research funding mechanisms in the UK along with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with research funding organisations. You will be educated to "A" Level standard with a recognised accounting qualification, knowledge of technical and management accounting principles is a pre-requisite.
