Exciting opportunity – Project Manager - Surveillance Systems – 1 year Fixed contract
Our client has a reputation for excellence in durable, lightweight, precision engineered instruments and low power motorised platforms and associated products currently require a Project Manager to manage and deliver both internally funded and externally funded development programmes in accordance with agreed budgets and timescales as defined by the Business Director
Duties and Responsibilities:
To take ownership of assigned projects and work with the engineering and operations teams, subcontractors and customers to deliver successful project outcomes in accordance with the company’s ISO9001 procedures, agreed budgets and timescales.
This will include:
* setting clear objectives for the project teams;
* preparing and monitoring work plans for staff and teams to deliver the objectives;
* managing and controlling project documentation;
* managing and controlling the project phase review process;
* proactively monitoring project progress to provide timely warnings of any potential problems and associated solutions; and
* Reporting project progress to the Business Director and Senior Management Team on a routine basis.
For customer funded projects:
* To manage projects so as to ensure that the customer is happy to place future business with the company
* To support the Business Director Systems and Sales & Marketing Teams to secure follow on business; and
* To represent the company in a professional manner with customers at all times.
* To assist the Business Directors to identify training or development needs for project staff.
* To work with the Business Director and Sales & Marketing Team to generate costed proposals for new business.
* To carry out any other related tasks as may be requested from time to time by the Business Director
Additional Info
* This is a contract position being offered for one year only with a start date of possibly mid-June.
* Would consider relocation expenses for the right candidate.
* Package will depend on experience but is likely to be in the range 50-60K

* Provide professional advice and commercial support to all areas of the business, including Utilities, Private Networks and Rail.

Competencies:
* B.Sc in Quantity Surveying and or HND in Building Studies.
* Member of the RICS
* Strong background in quantity surveying, and project management and estimating.
* Knowledge of project finance, budgeting, cost estimating.
* Ability to develop and prepare comprehensive financial analyses of projects.
* Knowledge of business practices and procedures.
* Knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, policies and procedures within quantity surveying.

You should have 2 years relevant work experience, and a BSc in Ecology or a closely related subject.. Experience of working with bats, badgers and great crested newts preferred, including appropriate licences, and an Associate membership of IEEM are essential. Ideally you will have considerable experience of protected species survey and mitigation. You should be proficient in client, project and staff management with a flexible can-do attitude.

You will be educated to "A" Level standard with a recognised accounting qualification, knowledge of technical and management accounting principles is a pre-requisite.
