IT Support analyst needed to join the 1st / 2nd line internal IT support team. Supporting a user base of around 500 the role will involve providing IT support in a Windows 7 environment, including software installation and support, user / security set up, resolving hardware problems, day to day housekeeping and generally supporting the user base.
It will be based in their Dartford Head Office.
As the IT Support analyst your key areas of responsibility will include:
• Install and repair desktops, laptops and servers including full client software installations, on a Windows 7 Enterprise Platform
• Assist users in access to, and use of, all relevant applications
• Configuration and maintenance of network printing and multi-function devices
• Carry out maintenance of onsite backup and restoration procedures using BrightStor
• Manage space availability on Network volumes
• Assist in deployment of new software, and resolution of any local issues.
• Apply patches and updates
• New staff IT inductions
• Respond to user queries (1st line) and ensure responses by the team are timely and accurate
• Administer, maintain and provide user training on the internal phone system
• Provide regular on-site visits to relevant offices
• Liaise with relevant members of the Infrastructure and Business solution teams
Candidate
The right person will have upwards of 2 years working in IT technical support role, supporting PC’s and peripherals in an enterprise environment and as a minimum:
• Windows Client (XP/Windows 7) installation, configuration and troubleshooting
• Basic Client network skills - Ethernet, hubs and switches
• Client PC hardware and software maintenance
• Printer/Scanner support and maintenance
• Microsoft Office applications
• Messaging and e-mail technologies
In addition to this, any certifications in, knowledge or exposure of the following would be a real advantage:
• Microsoft Platforms (Desktop, server and applications including Exchange and SQL Server)
• TCP/IP protocols and configuration
• Cisco switching and routing technologies
• Virtualisation technologies (Server, Desktop and Application)
• Cisco IP telephony
• ITIL framework
In addition to the technical skills the real key for this one is to find a candidate with a real passion for IT, someone with a real enthusiasm and desire to learn.
On a personal level, great communication and customer skills are an absolute must, you will be working with and providing IT support to users at all levels including Senior Directors. In addition to this they need someone who is flexible and ready to “go the extra mile” and committed to delivering a world class IT service.
