Salary £22.60 per delivery hour

Our client is a leading Further Education College providing a comprehensive range of vocational, academic, professional and higher education courses. The College also delivers the Offender Learning and Skills Service (OLASS) Phase 4 contracts for East Midlands, West Midlands and South Central, providing education to 35 prisons across these 3 regions.

HMP Isle of Wight is a category B training prison. As part of our clients’ expansion in Offender Learning they require skilled professionals for various positions to provide ad hoc cover for absence. They are looking for talented individuals to deliver learner success through effective teaching and delivery on their vocational training, ICT, Functional Skills and Employability programmes. Our client needs Lecturers to cover the following subjects: Bricklaying, Painting & Decorating, Business, Functional Skills, ITQ L3, Bookkeeping, Adult Learning Support.

As the successful candidate you will have:

A relevant degree or equivalent qualification
A full teaching qualification (DTTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed)
Assessor/Verifier Awards(desirable)
Teaching/training or vocational experience in a relevant discipline/subject area and relevant up-to-date knowledge
A proven track record of managing and supporting diverse groups of learners through nationally accredited programmes
Experience of identifying, developing and sharing innovative and creative teaching resources
Experience of working with students who may have little experience of education and training (desirable)
Knowledge of current curriculum and accreditation developments within Further Education and specific subject area(s)
The ability to teach creatively, adapting to the needs of a variety of learners and willing to explore new teaching and learning strategies
A good level of IT literacy and willing to develop further
Accuracy and precision in written presentation

Following a revision of their curriculum offer, they have a vacancy for a highly motivated candidate with a flexible and can do approach. This is a varied and rewarding position, which would suit a candidate who has experience in delivering a varied and interesting curriculum.

As the successful candidate you will have:
