Responsibilities include:

You need to be/have:

- Proven experience in a similar role within the retail or leisure and tourism sector

My Client requires a Line Design Engineer to join their ever growing team. In this integral role you’ll be involved in overhead power transmission line design projects in accordance with customer design requirements, programme, cost and quality. You’ll be involved in the full design lifecycle, from initial feasibility assessment, through development to detail design & delivery phase and scheme close on 132kv+ overhead lines transmission projects.
About the job
You’ll deliver satisfactory designs of an overhead line project by providing such design calculations/ drawings and commentary that enables a safe and secure solution.
Within this role, your duties will include:
• Analysing contract documents to ensure correct interpretation of customers/consultants intentions and liaise as necessary to agree design requirements.
• Design safe systems, defined as the integrated structure/overhead line/ civil works, so that they may be supplied and constructed in accordance with contract documents and/or current practices. Assist in analysis and resolution of design problems.
• Provide designs, volumes and quantities as required for the estimated & target cost submissions in order that upon acceptance, the budget, programme and specification can be achieved.
• Ensure that any drawings produced represent the design as intended, and sign drawings as checked to signify this has been done.
• Correspond as required with the business functions, customer, consultant, vendor (sub-contractor) to ensure the achievement of satisfactory progress and quality. Visit sites and offices (home and overseas) to discuss design issues, as appropriate.
• Undertake check function for design calculations performed by other engineering colleagues.
What you’ll need
Qualifications
· Degree level education or the equivalent with formal training in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
· Working towards Incorporated membership of ICE, IMechE or IET ideal
Specific experience required for this role
· Experience of line design ideally overhead lines or similar industry sector
· Understanding of UK and European design codes and standards for the Electricity Supply Industry, e.g. National Grid or ENA Technical Specifications, BS EN 50341/ IEC 60826 and IEC Standards in general.

The Trainer / Training Instructor – Engineering will provide effective training delivery and solutions for customers, agents, distributors and internal engineering departments on the correct operation and maintenance of the company’s robotic and automation systems and equipment.
The Trainer / Training Instructor – Engineering will design, develop and deliver technical training courses and materials including on-site training of customers in the operation, programming and maintenance of their equipment, before, during and after the installation and commissioning stage.

You will work from the company’s Midlands based office / workshop facilities, have a flexible and organised approach and be able to travel as required by customer demand.

The Company
Our client is the largest manufacturer of polythene packaging in Europe. The Leominster site specialises in industrial stretch film and agricultural stretch wrap which is exported worldwide. The site has received considerable investment in 5 layer co-extrusion technology in recent years, has a capacity of 35ktes, employs 135 people and is central to the strategic direction of our agricultural stretch wrap business.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that machine breakdowns and preventative maintenance are completed in a timely manner. You will ensure that procedures are followed and that documentation is completed as necessary. You will work closely with Departmental Managers and shift personnel to ensure that production requirements are met, whilst maintaining the highest standards of Health and Safety at all times.
The Person
You will be qualified to electrical NVQ 3 level or equivalent and have knowledge and experience of working within a manufacturing environment. Openings are available to those who have not yet had the opportunity to complete a qualification but experienced commercial electrical machinery; a strong technical aptitude is desired should this be the case. You will have the ability to work using your own initiative and be able to communicate at all levels. You will be self-motivated and thrive on working in a challenging environment.
The Package
The position offers a salary of £20k to £27k depending on knowledge and experience. There is also a Company pension scheme, profit share scheme and share save scheme in operation.
The Company will also ensure that you receive continuous training and development within the role.
