A highly respected Hampshire employer within the engineering sector is looking for a professionally trained Test Engineer. The job is primarily testing electrical and electronic equipment before shipment to customers. There will be a minor element of mechanical or electro-mechanical testing involved as well.
Due to recent growth in the business, the company now requires a dedicated specialist Test Engineer to ensure quality control for a various range of electrical and electronic products assembled or built on site. These products will then be shipped with a quality guarantee to customers in the home and foreign markets. The products are highly varied and some have a degree of mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic elements to them.
As a candidate for this job you will be professionally trained, preferably to Foundation Degree / HNC / HND level. A BSc or BEng in a relevant subject would be useful but not mandatory. You will have begun, or be seeking, a career in electrical or electronic engineering but may also have some experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering too. You may have experience in testing various such systems, using a variety of fixed and hand-held test equipment.

Our client specialise in the provision of managed services for all aspects of production equipment maintenance within a diverse range of manufacturing environments, and as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly self motivated multi discipline maintenance technician to complement the activities of an established and successful team.
As a hands-on engineer you will be responsible for undertaking advanced and expert level trouble shooting, fault find, diagnosis, repair, maintenance and reconditioning activities on a diverse range of machinery and mechanical equipment including motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machinery and equipment, necessitating working both autonomously and as part of a team within a busy maintenance environment on both planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
Additionally you will actively utilise Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma to progress the maintenance function, whilst communicating effectively and professionally with the site customer at all times regarding repair steps taken, parts ordered and estimated time of work completion, and will liaise closely with the supply chain function to order supplies and repair items as required, and effectively work as part of a proactive team analysing and recommending engineering solutions to failures whilst being able to lay out , wire, build and trouble shoot electrical panels and other equipment as required.
As the ethos of the company is a combination of dynamic, proactive, passionate and committed, you will demonstrate similar values and aspirations and possess the drive and determination to deliver the highest levels of customer service and support again and again, and due to the varied and challenging nature of the position, will be qualified to at least C&G level in a relevant engineering discipline and will have successfully completed a technical apprenticeship encompassing electrical, mechanical or manufacturing aspects alongwith a minimum of 2 years dedicated and relevant experience within a commercial environment.

Our client specialises in the provision of production equipment maintenance through a managed service within a diverse range of manufacturing environments, and following continued growth and success in winning new business they are now seeking to recruit a self-motivated multi-disciplined maintenance professional to complement and co-ordinate the activities of an established team.
As the on-site leader of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the customer receives the highest level of service from maintenance provider. You should be able to demonstrate the skills necessary to identify, measure and achieve the growth opportunities associated with the maintenance provision and be able to communicate these growth plans to both your customer management team and internal company support. You will need to be confident in working autonomously, as well as enjoy being part of the team, and be able to undertake a range of activities that will include (but not be limited to) developing customer relationships, directing repair and purchasing decisions and, through use of excellent delegation and leadership skills, determine the daily work and action plans.
This role demands exceptional communication and organisational skills as well as a proven aptitude for leadership and technical knowledge to support a multi-disciplined maintenance provision. Additionally you will be responsible for the implementation and enforcement of the Site Safety Program, and will conduct regular team and one-to-one meetings, undertaking performance evaluations and identifying career planning, training, and skills development needs. In order to ensure continuous customer satisfaction, you will provide both internal and external customer inventory support as needed and will regularly conduct meetings with customer plant managers to review performance measurements.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline and will be able to demonstrate at least 5 years successful management experience gained within a commercial engineering environment. You will possess a full UK driving licence and will be commercially astute, demonstrating previous financial experience associated with P&L and budgetary management.
