Great opportunity to work for a FTSE 100 company. This part of our business specialises in dedicated training for the fire and rescue service as well as other emergency responders. We work in partnership with clients in both the private and public sectors across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. We are looking to recruit an Incident Ground Support Officer to work in a busy team. Responsibilities will include: * Setting up all types of exercises, ignition of materials and clearing away of the resultant debris. * Maintain agreed standards of housekeeping and undertake minor maintenance in all relevant work areas (Appliance Bay, BA Servicing, Fire Extinguisher Servicing, Fireground buildings) to include cleaning and servicing of Incident Ground equipment * Maintaining records of all test and maintenance carried out in accordance with College policy. * Testing and recharging all fire extinguishers (Fireground and College Buildings) in accordance with manufacturers' instructions and maintain all necessary records. * General driving duties both on and off site to include delivery and collection of fire appliances and other vehicles. * Ensuring that Red Fleet vehicles are equipped and all Incident Ground training aids ready for use on training exercises. Tasks include but not limited to: * Stowing all necessary rescue and fire fighting equipment on fire appliances * Routine minor repair, servicing and cleaning of all fire fighting and rescue equipment * Operating forklift, Telescopic Handler, tipper Lorries, pumps, tankers and cesspit emptier. * Assisting generally, as required, on practical training exercises. Suitable candidates should have a valid and current driving licence, ideally a current Large Goods Vehicle driving licence or be willing to be trained. They should be certificated or be willing to be trained as - crane Banksman and load slingers, fork lift truck and Telescopic Handler driver including Rough Terrain Operator's licence, qualified, or willing to be trained, in the minor repair, maintenance and servicing of fire fighting and rescue equipment (including RTA) Candidates should be physically fit, sufficient to satisfy The Fire Service College standard and have a good level of written and numeric skills in order to complete all maintenance records etc. Capita Resourcing welcome applications from all suitably qualified people regardless of gender, race, disability, age or sexual orientation.
