Our client is a software house based in the West End of Glasgow, with world wide offices and a great reputation within a cutting edge, web based market with a data focus.
Their market is extremely relevant to some of the challenges in the current market and economic conditions, which has lead to a spike in interest for their software. On a longer term basis, this has lead to an ongoing pipeline that is looking extremely healthy and is confirmed, and as a result they are now in a place to expand their team further.
As an organisation, they have grown organically and have an extremely low attrition rate. This has lead to a close knit team who are both involved in the company, and given the chance to become further tied to the company with share options etc.
They are looking at multiple vacancies , from a more junior level up to senior developers. All roles will have in common the chance to work on full life cycle projects, including specification and design, so that from the moment you join them you will be working on business critical, greenfield projects.
Technically, they work within Java, utilising a mixed technology skill set as and when required. This normally includes J2EE, UML, SPring, Junit, Apache Ant, SQL, JDBC, HTML, CSS and Javascript, but can vary depending on the needs of the project. They are focussed on using the best technologies as and when required, so they expect their team to be excited by the chance to work on new tech and to bring new suggestions to the table.
The right candidates for this role will have a great basis in the software development life cycle, and will conduct all development to a very high standard. Depending on your level, you will be expected to demonstrate wide ranging projects, and to be able to communicate well as a member of a technical team. You will come from a Java background, however it is not expected that you will be able to tick every box mentioned above- more important is good Java skills and experience of developing web applications.
Occasional international travel may be required with Europe and North America, however this is not expected to be extensive. In return, you will be rewarded with an excellent salary and benefits package, alongside the chance to really integrate yourself into a company happy to reward you for great performance, and who want to bring their entire team with them as they move from strength to strength. For a confidential chat and more information about this great organisation, please apply ASAP.
