SEN Teacher (MLD)
A mainstream school based in the Hackney are seeking to appoint an SEN teacher to start in June 2013.
The special needs unit provides education for secondary-aged pupils with moderate learning difficulties, however some of the pupils may have autism. You will be required to support the students in some lessons, which will involve some 1:1 work as well where necessary.
There is an outstanding and personalised curriculum for each pupil, which enables them to plug vital gaps in their education. The vast majority of pupils achieve well and go on to attain a wide range of GCSE passes or relevant vocational qualifications.
The position is to continue on a full-time basis initially for one term and then be reviewed with the potential of carrying on until the end of the academic year and beyond.
