Key responsibilities and accountabilities

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the development and shaping of the Defence Support Group (DSG), a Trading Fund Agency of the Ministry of Defence which provides expert in-house maintenance, repair, overhaul and upgrade services in support of UK armed forces’ Air and Land systems. Working closely with, and reporting directly to the Head of Business and functionally to the Finance Director, the successful applicant will provide support to the other senior business managers and senior management within the wider DSG, in all aspects of Finance and Business, and will be involved in a wide range of Financial, Operational and Business activities, examples of which are provided below.
- Business strategic/planning and reporting
- Financial planning and budgeting
- Provision and ownership of management reporting including key performance indicators
- Support to the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes

Essential: CCAB qualified and a proven financial background in a senior post, with a commercial background, preferably within a manufacturing, maintenance or repair organisation. Excellent communication and presentation skills allied to experience of sales analysis and production planning of resources. A willingness to travel to, and work at other DSG locations as required.
Desirable: Commercial, Operational or Manufacturing experience of working within a Prime/sub contracting arrangement or Partnering with Industry. Project Management and knowledge of Lean Business processes would be an advantage, as would experience of non-competitive pricing within the MoD.
