Our client is a global leader in engineering, consulting, design, program management, construction and operations, working on the most challenging and impactful projects around the world. They are currently looking to recruit an Ecologist for their Devon based office.
The principal function of this position is to assist in, and lead ecological based projects whilst providing support to the Ecology and Environmental Management team and assistance to other professionals within our company.
The main roles of this position are
Co-ordinating and undertaking ecological surveys including lone working (if appropriate) and with teams of ecologists;
Ecological supervision on construction sites, including Ecological or Environmental Clerk of Works roles;
Protected species surveys;
Production of clear concise reports;
Developing ecological management strategies / plans; contribution to the full life cycle of projects from EIA and detailed design through to the construction phase, which provides exciting opportunities for the implementation of mitigation, compensation and enhancements works and to deal with real ecological issues on site.
You must have a BSc or an MSc in a relevant discipline and be a member of an appropriate ecological / biological institute, and also be able to demonstrate the following:
Awareness of wildlife legislation and policy.
Experience and capability in ecological survey including habitat identification, Phase 1+ habitat surveys, and good botanical skills.
Strong survey and ecological assessment skills related to terrestrial and preferably also aquatic ecology.
Experience of undertaking protected species surveys and hold one or more protected species licences (ideally great crested newts or bats).
Experience in Ecological Impact Assessment, mitigation methodologies and production of Environmental Action Plans..
On-site ecological and environmental supervision, including ensuring adherence to Environmental Action Plans.
Able to demonstrate an ability to write concise and effective reports.
Good use of plain English.
Reliability and willingness to learn new skills.
Pragmatic approach and keen to find solutions.
Able and willing to work in a team as well as individually.

Our clients provide a genuine local pest control service to all of Devon, Cornwall and Somerset, to Residential or Business customers. Their local technicians provide a fast prompt service to all kinds of pest problems, and provide free advice as to the best solution to their clients pest problems.
They are currently seeking Pest Control Technicians to join their Devon based team.
The successful candidates must posses;
RSPH Level 2 Qualification as a minimum
Other industry qualifications and courses are desirable but not essential
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to work as part of a team and to own initiative
Flexible approach to working hours
Full UK Driving Licence
Duties within this role will involve surveying domestic and commercial properties for the presence of pests and determining the best course of action to tackle the infestations. You will be expected to be able to identify different pest types and suitable methods of control. You will also be expected to be able to provide advice to clients and customers regarding pests and how they can prevent further infestation.
Although you will primarily be based in Devon some travel may be required so a full UK driving licence will be essential, along with a flexible approach to working hours as some out of hours work may apply.

This role is shift based and the Shift Rota working hours are 6am-2.30 pm or 2.30pm-11pm. Core Duties: To answer incoming calls and record details of fault/request on RMS service desk - a high level of detail and accuracy is required. To appropriately fulfil or field all requests that come through to the CSC. To follow procedure, maintain documentation and standards and to collate and submit asset information as required. Assess business impact of IT Incidents and accurately assign SLA and follow escalation procedures as directed. Assign unresolved incidents to the correct internal support team or invoke 3rd party support (potentially some 60+ organisations) and monitor the progress of those incidents Communicate status updates to users and carrying out quality checks of the Documented Incident and customer satisfaction surveys when closing resolved Incidents. To work under the direction of the CSC Manager and CSC Team Leader to meet Contact Management and Incident Management SLA's and in providing accurate management information and reports. To utilise fully the Solutions Data Base on RMS and contribute to keeping it relevant and up to date. To be fully conversant with Incident Management and CSC SLA's and supporting documentation.
