You will be working across a programme of work responsible for developing technical solutions to facilitate the uptake of Low Carbon Technologies on the Electricity Network. The primary purpose of the role is to manage the build and deployment of a bespoke piece of software,  a network modelling tool, which includes integrating into an existing product.   You will need to have experience and knowledge of software development methodologies and extensive experience of delivering IT projects. Your primary responsibility is to manage the development of the network modelling tool and its inputs to time cost and quality parameters, with the following specific responsibilities: 1.         Business management
ensure that partners fulfil their contractual obligations to the project establish and maintain good working relationships with all project and business stakeholders ensure that project change is properly managed with cost and timescale adjustments passed on to the Programme Manager using an agreed procedure ensure that all suppliers are monitored, managed, maintain adequate quality and provide regular and effective reporting.
2.         Project management
obtain commitment to resources and manage resources assigned to the project. ensure appropriate project governance  obtain formal commitment to all applicable decisions and necessary obligations to the project produce project documents arrange appropriate reviews of the project to coincide with the agreed key risk milestones ensure there are clear acceptance criteria for all deliverables and that you obtain acceptance certificates from the customer for all deliveries manage the project finances in accordance with the relevant procedures and generate Purchase Orders produce project status reports to the programme manager record details of all key decisions made during execution of the project, together with the criteria and rationale used generate and maintain the risks register and proactively manage threats to avoid additional risks produce and publish agreed minutes of all formal meetings with the project team, suppliers and other stakeholders record all actions arising during the project (including actions that result from a key decision) and track them to conclusion. keep an appropriate archive of all important data, as a controlled part of the project file.
The role holder will have the following skills and experience:
Project management experience, specifically in the development of bespoke software Extensive experience in software lifecycle development methodologies Experience of supplier management Sound knowledge of software development lifecycle Sound knowledge of software development methodologies Knowledge of software systems test strategies and methods Experience of large systems integrations Subcontractor/supplier management capabilities Ability to work with and coordinate the activities of a geographically spread team Ideally knowledge of the Electricity distribution domain  Excellent written documentation skills
