This newly created, strategic role provides an exciting and challenging opportunity for an innovative and talented Manager to further develop quality as a dynamic and critical function, with enhanced, robust quality systems and statistical reporting procedures, at one of Amcor’s largest plants in the UK.

With 68 plants in 21 countries, Amcor Flexibles Europe & Americas, a division of Amcor, is a $multi-million market leader and the world’s largest supplier of flexible packaging. We deliver innovative packaging solutions and provide enhanced quality products for the food beverage, pharma, personal care, medical and industrial markets.

The Salterbeck site, which is ISO 14001, ISO 18001, BRC and AIB accredited, operates 24/7 and employs 400 people with an annual turnover approaching £120m. The site is well invested, with state of the art technology, and manufactures an extensive range of packaging films, across 4 strategic business units, for a blue chip customer base. Forming part of the site leadership team, you will identify and deliver improvement strategies and programmes which will not only improve quality performance and deliver cost savings, but will reinvigorate and transform the quality culture of the site and surpass customer expectations. You will be responsible for the management, motivation and further development of a team of 10 quality and laboratory personnel, with a full remit for quality training and communication across the site.

Ideally degree qualified in a technical/engineering discipline, you will be a focussed, influential change agent with a proven track record in driving process excellence within a packaging or similarly demanding high volume manufacturing environment e.g. automotive, fmcg etc. You will possess strong leadership ability with the gravitas, drive and energy to be able to positively influence at all levels both internally and within the customer base. Whilst direct quality process experience is useful, it is not essential, and candidates with an operations, manufacturing, engineering or continuous improvement background will also be considered.
