An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Outstanding Secondary Special Needs Coordinator at a Secondary School located near the heart of Coventry
Due to a retirement the Head Teacher is looking to recruit a top SENCO to join their team of staff for the start of the next Academic year, September 2013.
The school is ideally located with excellent public transport links including regular buses and the central train station in the centre of the city. This is a co-educational, Secondary School, with a recently added sixth form. The total number of pupils’ enrolled at the school is close to 1100 including nearly 170 in the sixth form. The school benefits from large grounds, good sized classrooms and up to date ICT facilities, that all help to form a very pleasant working environment.
The role will involve taking responsibility for Special Needs across the school as well being part of a professional and very capable middle management team. You will be responsible for assessing the school’s needs in terms of SEN and then formulating these needs in to action plans for the academic year. The successful SENCO will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team as well as teaching staff and LSAs at the ‘coal face’ to ensure those with special education needs receive the best possible education from the school.
You will need to be a proficient team worker and a creative practitioner as well as being suitably experienced for the role. The successful candidate will look forward to working in a supportive and friendly environment where their skills and talents as a teacher are nurtured and developed by the SLT.
In addition to this you will hold British QTS and the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO)
